It's time to book Shepton Mallet accomodation for Tuesday night... all go for roughly the same price, which one would you pick? Interested in a fun evening and easy way of getting to eastern car parks around 4am on Wednesday.

Bowlish House has the best accommodation and does really good food but you'd need to go somewhere else for a fun evening. The Dusthole is more of a traditional west country pub, gets very busy and is situatued adjacent to the town's prison. Not sure about the food because I haven't eaten there for a while but it's supposed to be ok. The Highwayman is closest to the site (about a 5 minute drive from the eastern car park entrances in normal conditions). Food is ok.

Fun evening? Honestly... just some good food with good ales and cider, as late into night as possible. Not many demands...

I'd go for the Dusthole then. Traditional pub with good atmosphere and food and an excellent range of beers (some local) when I was last in. Also local cider (but be very wary). It's about a 10 minute drive from the east side entrances.

I also have a room booked over there on the way out. Since local roads will be closed, will I have any issues getting to it when leaving?

No problem with road closures (there's only one or two that are closed or set to one way traffic - none of which should affect you).
