A Sour Note

So I had an AMAZING Glasto. Loved it and was nearly in tears when I left.

But I feel I should share this with you.

I'm a big lad, but not big enough that I cant walk round the site for 6 hours in the sun. I am also a photographer. I went for a bimble with a friend of mine while very drunk on Friday I think it was, maybe Saturday up to the flushables. I was wearing my "Free Hugs" shirt. On the way back down and nearly stumbling through drunkenness I spotted a group of teenagers drinking by the path and one of them went "Waaaaay free hugs," and came up to me and got a hug.

Lovely. As I was walking off I heard the phrases "Huh obesity is rife there" and "Fat c**t will die in this heat." Followed by laughs and a few more of the like. But this time I was out of earshot, naturally I turned round photographer style n snapped them.

I think this is the first and last time anyone has ever got away with saying something like that to me. Normally it ends badly. That is the Glasto spirit and how it chills me out. But sitting here reflecting on my photos I came across this snap.

If you are one of the lads in the photo I hope you feel ashamed. I came over to you with a big smile on my face and walked away with that same smile to hear these comments.

i'm fairly certain the one in the white shirt with both middle fingers up is Norwegian Left-Back John-Arne Riise.

I can imagine it was very annoying, but to be honest I wouldn't worry about it too much, just a bunch of 16 years olds who were on the 3rd cider and wanting to show off.

Was a lil worried i'd get chewed out here for a negative posting but glad to see there are some similar opinions on here.

Most of the people I met aaprt from these were top notch people I felt lucky to meet. But as always the bad experience is the one that sticks out.

We got a visit from a stewardy type person when we lit our fire Sunday night, but he was more than happy to see a couple of mid-forties "lads" finally having enough space to burn the firewood we'd dragged over Wednesday and Thursday.

Needless to say, after a chat about how nice it was having a bit of space and a fire, he went on his way happy we were in control.

All the young (and the less young) people around us in Woodsies were great neighbours, as always.

Sorry to hear of their cretinous behaviour.

On the upside, that is a quality pic, crisp colours, the composition rocks - the main tosser's head between the other two, fingers framing them, and the guy in the background also raising his finger kind of draws your eye back.

Even the clouds are all fluffy!

Sorry to hear how rude those lads were to you, loving the picture of them being complete nobs!

It does taint the weekend things like this though :( .

When I went to V a load of lads started shouting at me and calling me a "fat slag" (I was a size 14 at the time) It really upset me and my hubby was really angry, they just laughed and shouted stuff like "Who wants to go out with a fat slag like that"

I hated the festival anyway, that just made me decide I am never ever going back, never have I experience such w*nkerish behaviour at a festival before then.
