March. Init lovely, what with the sudden abundance of bunnies, flowers and sweet birdsong? But we are immune from such natural joys so we decided to invite a mysterious masked figure to lurk about in our dark basement and fill the place with sizzling techno. Always performing behind his trademark disguise, Redshape’s identity is as elusive as his typical live sound; he shifts his style constantly and never prepares a set.

Our files suggest that he lives in Berlin and he seems to pop up all over the planet (wonder how he gets on at passport control?) treating clubs like Berghain (the week after this) to his sounds. Musically he could be going anywhere, but expect a nod to classic Detroit and some rough analogue thumpers.

Getting yers all hot under the collar for Mr Shape will be our old DJ friend, Warehouse Project resident and local hero, Andro. His tunes are as carefully selected as his wardrobe, which helps to explain why he has spent a fair bit of time away from Manchester. It’s grand to have him back, so it is.
