Planning on attending Pinkpop this year and just wanting to know if anyone as been before and your experience.

How fast do tickets sell out? Best place to get tickets from http://www.ticketmaster.nl?

I have read info about the camping - is it true the camp site only opens 3 hours before the festival begins? I'm used to Glastonbury and Leeds Fest getting there days before the main entertainment kicks off. I'm guessing Campsite C is going to be like Brown campiste at Leeds Fest, a good walk away? Are the campsites and arena area totally seperated, Ive heard a bus being mentioned when going to and from the campsite.

What does the festival compare to with english festivals?

Pinkpop 2011: June 11-12-13

Location: Landgraaf

Ticketsale: starts March 16 2011 via www.ticketservice.nl

Option for a dayticket or a weekendticket (which incl. camping)

Confirmed: Coldplay (Sat), Kings of Leon (Sun), Foo Fighters (Mon)

Rest of the program will be announced on March 16. There will be 3 stages.

Depends on the program how fast this sells out. Daytickets may sell faster. Camping only opens on the same day the festival starts. Campground and festivalground are seperated (you will have to leave the festivalground after the last band has finished).

Sells out fast, strict rules on camping and at the side. Of the big festivals in the area (Rock am Ring, Hurricane, Werchter, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Rheinkultur) least recommended by those who have been at more than one festival.

On the other hand its still cheaper than most british fessies that size, and more lenient towards marihuana than the German and Belgian festivals.

Been the last 3 years, seen good and bad line ups but thats personal choice - personally it's what you make it so always had a good time, oldest festival in Europe and a big deal in Holland, few band clashes partly as it's a small line up but this means they separate different styles to avoid clashes, booze expensive and dull, food ok, less image conscious/posing than in UK festivals, relaxed and pretty friendly, amazingly easy access to front of stage, campsite c is furthest at a 20 minute walk, bus service between the camp sites, public transport links are good, festival arena is pretty souless. offsite bars stay open late, moving onto to Rock en Seine this year but enjoyed our trips to Pinkpop
