Stakeholder pensions where created in 2001...

Ahhh, OK - you're talking about a legally defined thing, while I'm talking about the wider thing of private pensions always being run on a supposed 'stakeholder' basis (while not being done so in reality - as the Equitable Life bail-out gets to show).

You didn't say anything about "on average" when you took time out of your day to call "me" a c**t...

What you say might be true about what I said last week, but I don't care enough to look back for it.

It's certainly the case that have done here where you've chosen to take me to task over it.

So we have to work until we die ?

No, just till you've covered what you'll use in your lifetime.

I would argue it with you now... If my circumstances continue as they currently are and the stock market suddenly performs at a rate it's never done then I can very easily retire at 55. Who can grantee that though... I certainly can't... It is just a dream / hope...

Corrected for you. :)

Are your estimates based on real stock market performance or the lie of stock market performance that pension firms are legally allowed to present as realistic?

But you seem to have no idea what this amount is ?

So we should retire somewhere between 55 and death... But you have no idea when, but 55 is too soon, even though I will be retiring on nothing more than income I generated :)

You are SO full of shit :D

You have all the moans but none of the answers :)

The amount is what you do.

And it's certainly the case that you're not contributing 25% to 30% more than the average of others, even tho your pay-packet might suggest to you that you are.

You think I only have investments which require good stock market performance ? More fool you... Mr Assumption...

No, I think you have investments - investments that all fail to reach the return that's legally allowed to be claimed for them, and by quite a margin.

Like I said, no answer...

It was an answer. Just an answer you won't accept, because you do want to regard your pay packet as saying you put in 25% more effort than the average.

Explain...

go look up what is legally allowed to be claimed for investments, and how none get close to achieving those levels over a 25+ year period.

but you have no idea how much effort I put in ? again, you are just talking from generalised bullshit...

Do you put in 25%+ more effort into your work than a man whose job it is to dig holes for 8 hours each day 5 days a week?

I know you put in nothing like that effort, in fact I know that you put in less than 4 hours a day of efforts at anything - as your endless posts here get to show.

The generalised bullshit is your belief that you're so much better than everyone else that you can stop working ten years before they have to.

Oh look, more generalised bullshit

You asked the question, I told you were you could find the answers.

Good and accurate answers are always bullshit to you, as you consistently get to prove.

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
