I'd bought my tickets by 9.30am on Tuesday morning. Can't get this festival out of my head. It was just so good. Pure perfection. My 2nd visit, can't wait for my 3rd.

I know it's dull to list my fave performers but I can't help it so...

Wilco - rocked it

Edwyn Colllins - rocked it, loved the guitarist

Caitlin Rose - loved both her sets, esp the first one

The New Pornographers - didn't particularly rock it but love 'em anyway

The Felice Brothers - 'it's great to be here in London, or wherever the f**k we are' Need I say more?

Singing Adams - even better than the Broken Family Band?

and two new bands for me

Phosphorescent

Re Singing Adams - hmmm. Yes they were good, but they seem like a bit of a work in progress at the moment. And it's not quite the same as the BFB - there doesn't seem to be the same sense of wit in the lyrics, and the other musicians (apart from the behatted, bespectacled drummer) were fairly anonymous. Still, nothing Steven Adams does can ever be truly bad, so I'm sure I'll grow into them.

Wouldn't miss it for the World. My kids are also coming down again, they had a ball last week.

Will have to get into training though,4 days took it's toll on my body. Probably have to reduce alcohol intake and eat more fruit, drink more water during the festival. It was good though was it not :D

Hope to meet up with a few people of my own age next year...........kids have no staying power !!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
