Just been to global gathering this year.! it was soo good! my third festival. very friendly!!!!

and im also going to cream this year.and itll be my first cream fest ever!

just been reading up on this forum about creamfields. and alot of people are saying things are getting stolen, tents trashed...etc...

it sounds a bit rough to be honest....

is it really that bad???? is there usually alot of trouble???

and how bad are the searches at cream???

global website said that EVERYONE was gunna be searched and sniffer dogs everywhere!! but i only saw one dog at the site entrance!!!! and hardly anyone got searched!

so how hot are they at creamfields???? thorough bag search?

thanks.. any info would be great. im just seriously worried about chavs and trouble!

i never seen one bit of trouble last year! and the bag searches as ur going in arent that intense id say the worst searches are when ur actually goin into the event arena and there are sniffer dogs and police stood there pulling the odd few people over for more thorough searches!

other than that all is good, i wouldnt say its a rough festival, iv heard maybe a few years back it was when it was at the bowl in liverpool but i had no bother at all last year

hope this helps =)

I went for the 1st time last year and had no bother. the odd twat but as has been said already just ignore it and you'll be fine. Think I also got lucky as I pitched my tent next to some decent folk who were very friendly and had a bit of an unofficial neighbourhood watch thing going on. There was also a group of lairy scouse boys just behind me and to be honest they were decent. Just because there is a big group of loud guys, it does not mean they are trouble. Some folk get a bad rep just because of people forming judgements on appearance.

went last year for the first time and didnt see one bit of bother the whole weekend. everybody we spoke to was friendly and just pure up for it. there were a few growlers but you get them everywhere.

if you go for opening the ques to get in are massive so the bag searches were pretty crap tbh. they dont spend ages checking caus there are so many people trying to get it. dont know what it would be like when its quieter. as for the dogs. i wouldnt worry about them either, we didnt have any bother.

creamfields is brillant. just go and have a great weekend and dont worry about what you have heard!!!

In all honesty, I saw more trouble last time I was at Global than I ever have in the fields!

There are searches. About even at both events. Ive noticed the dogs always go for certaint types though (ie the shifty looking loner who looks quite anxious, with his hands in his pockets ;) )

AS long as you aint gonna be stupid (ie walking through the security point gurning, or walking up to the biggest group of chavs you can find and announcing "I f**ked all your mas") then youre going to be fine. For every baddy, I gurantee you will meet 1000 goodies.

Second festival after going Download festival earlier this year , which i must say was awesome and better than what i expected. Looking forward to Creamfields but the fact of not being able to camp on the Friday night is very rubbish !

Basically just the usual queries really, what time is best for getting there on the Saturday morning ? Also what are food and drink prices like ? and how far is it to walk with the camping gear from your car to the campsite ? Creamfield organisers seem to be a money grabbers, like , not releasing band times on the internet so you have to buy a lanyard when your there, also no drink or food is allowed to be taken into the main arena ( i can understand alcohol but food, surely thats a piss take ) and finally being only able to take one crate of booze in and one bottle ..... Download organisers are so much better !

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
