Glastonbury at 40: From Avalon to Jay-Z

No longer a bunch of hippies communing beneath Glastonbury Tor to the heady sounds of prog rock, the festival today is an established part of the British summer: a behemoth that draws huge crowds and the biggest bands in the world to Worthy Farm in Somerset. In the run-up to Friday's kick-off, Mark Radcliffe presents this ruby anniversary A-Z tribute: not just some fabulous music, but everything else that gives Glastonbury its unique atmosphere, including cows, mud and colourful characters.
