THE FLAMING LIPS!

Ok,

So my friend has FINALLY agreed that it would be a good idea to see The Flaming Lips instead of Gorillaz. After forcing him to sit through The Fearless Freaks documentary and the UFO'S at the zoo gig he's finally seen the light and said that we can go and seen them. And I am extremely excited about this one.

I've been a huge fan of the Flips since the end of Year 9 when I first discovered Glasto and watched endless clips of performances. I came across the full length 2003 performance and was completely amazed by it and since then they have been one of my must see bands live. Now I'm sure that Gorillaz will do a splendid job of replacing U2 but for me and for many others The Flaming Lips will do better. They are an extrmely personal band as they are one of my childhood favourites and I really really can't wait to see them.

I'll even endure Hot Chip if it means getting a good space for The Flaming Lips. I know that their set wont be as epic as 03 but still it will be extremely special for me and many others.

So who else is as excited as I am to see these boys play then?

Well, I've never gotten into them that much to be honest. Been having a good listen recently though and (especially given the reputation of their live shows) really fancy them. Alas, it'll be Gorillaz for me (or possibly Bootleg Beatles). I'll definitely be checking them out at Green Man though.
