Arriving Friday

First time at Glastonbury.

Cant get there until Friday morning. What are the chances of finding a spot for the tent. Should I play safe and take the smallest tent possible? (I would like some room, and would like to take a 4 man tent for 2 of us, but dont think i will be able to find anywhere to pitch it!)

any advice?

I'm sure there will be more than enough space on the very edge of the new fields to the West of The Park. Is that Dairy Ground? Of course, it won't be a handy location for the stages etc, but I'm sure you're expecting that if you're arriving later than everyone else.

There'll be space somewhere.

I could be wrong but in the last year or so more camping areas have become available to increase

the space.

When you arrive ask camping marshalls and they should be able to point you in the right

direction.

Yes there will be space...somewhere. There's enough room for everyone otherwise it just wouldn't work.

Just don't expect to be able to be picky!

There were large spaces last year for tents, we had space enough for three 4 man tents next to our site in Dairy Ground, no one camped there as we were a bit off the path, so they hadn't checked. It's probably best leaving your rucksacks at one of the 24 hour property lock ups, just taking your tent and hunting for space.

The most popular campsites (Pennard Hill, Holts, Dragon Field, Kidney Mead and Row Mead) will probably be completely full by Wednesday night, but there's plenty of other fields to camp in.
