Volunteering

So being a poor student this year, I'm looking towards wearing one of those shiny jackets and being a volunteer - and since the hotboxevents apps have just gone live I figured now would be a good time to post some questions for those with more experience :P

1) I've been to Reading twice, but now I'm living more in the centre of the country I'm considering doing Leeds - would I find it much more difficult seeing as I don't have a clue how to find my way round the Leeds site?

2) What is the difference between a CAT and a HAT - and which is more fun (or at least, nicer) to work? What kind of typical jobs do you get asked to do? At Reading I always just seem to see them strolling around and not doing much at all but I find it hard to believe it's that easy!

3) Do you generally get the shifts you want to work, or is there like a hierarchy of people who've been there again and again and get priority?

Thank you in advance, and any other general information would be appreciated! Also any input from anyone who has worked at Latitude, since I'm looking towards there too (although intending to get a paid ticket if I don't get a Glasto one in the resale...)
