Just read this clasher thing from another topic on here and it says 'chase and status'(dj) does that mean its a Dj set or own music?

Plus is anyone going to see them?

don't think there are no..but yea DJ set, but arent they DJs anyway?I don't get what the difference is to how they normally play?

There is a distinction.

Most electronic artists are DJs yes, but they also have their own material. DJ set generally means they are mixing together tunes which aren't theirs (but they will inevitably throw the odd favourite of theirs in). A non DJ set usually comes in the form of a live set which is where the artists use their instruments (complex setups of laptops, synths, software, maybe expression pedals) to play more of their own material.

If it helps I have seen Chase and Status like 6-7 times at my uni, they have an mc on. But when they did have an mc, they played their songs like pieces, running etc and the mc just said yeah a few times but had a break. So I can assure you they will play their music as well as other songs. You can probs expect 4-5 songs of theirs in the set. But as I say when I saw them it was with an mc, an mc not with the djs as never released music with them, but a guy that is at my uni mc ing every 2-3 weeks. So they might just have an mc with them who stays quiet during their songs.
