I wrote the first and me and my girlfriend (glastomad) wrote the second.

Let us know what you think :)

GLASTONBURY

We spent last week at Glastonbury

so many things to do and see

the sun did shine, the rain did fall

all there together, to have a ball

there were some good times, there were some bad

but in the end, few left sad

the bands they played, the people raved

all singing and dancing, the weather braved

the rain it fell, but all could see

it wont stop us now, its Glastonbury!!

then the sun it shone, this is the one

no rain no pain

its Glastonbury again

the sounds the sights

the days the nights

everyone’s here to dance and cheer

so we’ll wait around for next year to come

so we can lay in that field beneath the sun.

Stone circle at night

ALL THE STARS UP IN THE SKY,

WE’RE LYING HERE I DON’T KNOW WHY,

WHAT IS TO COME WE’LL NEVER KNOW,

I REALISE; I LOVE IT SO.

WE’LL STAY AWAKE ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT,

THE FIRES AND FLARES BURNING BRIGHT

THE TREE TOPS SWAYING IN THE BREEZE,

THIS LIFE WE LIVE IS FILLED WITH EASE.

WE WAIT UNTIL THE SUN COMES UP,

HAVE A SMOKE, REFIL THE CUP.

AND AS THE BIRDS BEGIN TO SING,

WE WONDER WHAT THE DAY WILL BRING.

THE GUITARS AND BONGOS ALL PLAY ON,

WE ARE HERE TOGETHER, ALL AS ONE.

DAWN ARRIVES WITH HER HEAD HELD HIGH,

WE TURN AND WATCH THE CRIMSON SKY.

AND WHEN THE SUN SHINES ON THROUGH,

A NEW LIFE IS HERE FOR ME AND YOU.

Good work folks!

I wrote this one for my local poetry group about a month ago, not entirely happy with it, but a few folk liked it!

It’s not long now

Until Glastonbury 2009

Sun come and do what you do best

yes come out, join in the fun and shine!

Rain stay away,

Don’t dare try to wash away my bedding

Spend the week instead

in Leeds or Reading

Long gone are the convoys of Hippies

Where they are now?

Buying endowments for their Grandkiddies?

From their middle class semi in Slough?

The modern world is slowly but surely trickling in

Phone masts, cash points, designer gear

and unfair traded products born of corporate sin

But the glasto spirit is alive and well

If you’ve been

You know what I mean

You don’t need the hard sell!

It’s just so many things

to so many people

Some just don’t get it

But you need an open mind, not one that’s feeble

Some spend all day in the dance village, pyramid or acoustic

Some of us try in vain to sample it all

But either way, the vast majority or us

have an absolute ball!

But whilst we are having fun

We have to remember not to buy the Sun

Wrestle,

The urge to buy products made by Nestle

By all means buy dope

Just don’t buy coke!

The long drops may stink

And sweaty unshowered people are rife

But the wateraid commercials make you think

We’re the lucky ones who endure that for a few days

For some poor people, well, that’s their life

Every year 150,000 people have the time of their lives

Whilst the pathetic media gripe and sharpen their poisoned little impotent knives

How many people aged nearly 75

Throw the worlds biggest party

That makes us feel so truly alive!

Mr Eavis I salute you!

A true King amongst men

I can’t bloody wait

Until Glastonbury 2010!

Oh and last years effort (the first poem I performed)

(In west country accent)

Jaz-Zee

Who He?

Hubby of Beyoncee

An’ he’s headlinin’ Glastonbree

If thou’s think rap is crap

And hip-hop

Ain’t tip top

Don’t woree

Check out the facts

Over 2,000 diverse acts

Have been booked for this year’s Glastonbree

An’ if you do go see

Jay-zee

And he’s a dud

Fling some mud

But if you’re too old to camp

Too mollycoddled for mud, crowds and damp

Make a cup of tea

Sit on your settee

Turn on the tv

And watch Glastonbree

On BBC-HD

Or BBC3

    • I saw that the payment method is contactless wristbands - I understand you collect them at the festival site and can top them up there as well? Yes, there are top up points, keep the recepe if you want to withdraw the money in the end   How much does food and drink usually cost at the festival? We would like to know how much money we should prepare for the festival. Beer, Wine etc. 5€, Gin tonic, Whishkey Cola were 6-6.5€, food 10€    Is there a bus from the festival site to the city center? And are there any stops along the way? No offical info yet, but ussualy there are free festival buses from Ljubljanica to festival site, with few stops on the way. Nice to get to the festival but crowded from festival back to the city.   Where is the best place to find an Uber/Bolt to return from the festival site? Petrine ulica   Are there any shaded areas to take a break from the strong sun? Yes, i think there is some.
