Completely agree!

Whilst crime is a tragedy for all those who suffer from it, there is a balance to be struck... which is why I'm always a bit warey of statements like...

This is not always the case imho...

In the days before the big fence (pre-2002), Glastonbury really was genuinely lawless - massively over capacity, drugs openly punted (especially on the Railway Track), the occasional stabbbing, one year someone got shot... bonkers stuff, much of which really wasn't good. Since then the festival has changed massively (for better and worse), with the police presence increasing year-on-year. This new police initiative should be seen in this context.

I am not against the police in anyway, but the words "crackdown" and "Glastonbury" just don't fit together for me - it's so far away from where the festival has come.
