well thats not what the critics think, and im with them! the concepts misguided and some tunes are below average but empire was bollocks and their debut had a fair amount of duds on it as well. west pauper is definitely there most consistent!

It just won't happen! As much as i'd like it too....they will not play second fiddle to the likes of Keane (possible the worst headlining act I have ever heard) and I can't see there being any room on the Oasis day that high on the line-up.

Just as well I'm seeing them this summer up the road at Eden Project! ;) an'sum!!!!

Dont get me wrong...i like kasabian and would like to see them at V.

BUT

Some people in this thread are talking about them as though they are gods

Cummon, yes their popular, and i acknowledge that, but they are not yet legendary

2nd slot is a perfectly respectable slot for them, and i personally think that if its true, them not playing any festivals till they headline them is a big mistake on their behalf

Secondly, i wouldnt necesserily count V as one of the major UK festivals...if it was it would have the BBC sniffing round its arse

Thats my rant over, probably made me a very unpopular man, but im just throwing it out there.

How can you not count V as a major UK festival???

1st Glasto 150,000 people

2nd Reading Leeds 150,000 over 2 sites but 3 dayer

3rd V 150,000 people over 2 sites but 2 dayer

Nope can't think of any other UK festival that has over 80,000 people attending even 1 site, nevermind over 100,000 so I would say V is a major UK festival!!!!

Sonisphere has the capability to hold over 100,000 being at Knebworth but I don't think it will manage it in its first year even with Metallica headlining, will become a major festival though.

Yeah i consider V to be big. Just not in the league of others.

I personally think of Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds, T in the Park, and Oxegen as the major UK festivals (even though oxegen technically isnt UK)

After that theres the likes of V, Isle of Wight and Download

Just my opinion though

dont be silly v is one of the major festivals. its been around longer than leeds and just a couple of years shorter than t ine park. Also isnt downloads capacity about 80,000?

In my view historically its glastonbury and the god damn awful(in my opinion)reading festival, the latter I would never attend again.

then you have leeds, t, v, download, oxygen etc etc etc.

The reason people go on about glastonbury(me being biggest culprit) and reading is they have been the longest going festivals out there.
