cheers lads, i'll have a luke out for them <_<

yeah i was gutted when they called it a day, it seemed like they never had a decent run at it...but for circumstances, they'd be whuppin the killers now!!!

black dollar bills is still one of the best tunes i've ever heard ;)

PS Bossie, put the names of the bands into your posting text - no one reads the sub headings of posts really. Hope of the States were a great band though, pity they didn't stick around for longer. Have you any idea what they're up to these days??

You might like Boxer Rebellion, they have a epic type sound from what ive heard

Referring to a other poster about the park, the lineup this year for the park is rather poor with little of that type of thing unless the special guests do turn out to be special

Having said that Animal Collective are headlining the Park on friday and they are rather special, check out their new album, merriweather post pavillion

HOTS did have great albums (well the first one was, the second one wasn't great) - but they were never amazing live. Maybe that's why a buzz never got going about them...they're no british sea power when it comes to putting your heart and soul into performing. Doves are like that too, I wouldn't be too excited about seeing them live. meh. :(

hey Pete, how were northwestern, could this be the return of the sam and the boys?! :D

I've seen HOTS a few times, the gigs were amazing and emotive, they never looked like they were singing by numbers...

boxer rebellion are great fraybentos, i got the album over the weekend...flashing red light means go is a cracking tune :P

thanks all for the recommendations!!

Not sure about HOTS similarities but if you also mean godspeed you black emporer maybe Brand New on the other stage could be worth a watch. They've become quiet an atmospheric and epic band.
