;) sorry i thought i'd use the same topic title! :P

This time though I'm not a mystery sungubala - im a real person with a real name who is playing at Glastonbury this year!

I lead a band called "Bin There Drummed That" (hence my username) and we are playing at glastonbury this year! We use wheelie bins and other forms of junk percussion to create songs and a performance.

The band was originally set up by a local charity to give youths in the local area something to do in the evenings, but since then its grown from strength to strength and we've now got the opportunity to perform at Glastonbury which is very exciting! I'm bringing a band of 12 with me to play 6 slots in total over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the theatre and circus fields, whereever they are. I'm a glastonbury newbie - noone in the band has ever been before so it will definately be an interesting experience - playing at our first glastonbury!

So if you want to see something a little bit (or quite alot) different this year at glastonbury come down to one of Bin There Drummed That's performances! (times and locations tbc)

if you have any questions about the band, or anything else please feel free to ask! I'm sure ill have a tonne of questions about glastonbury over the next couple of months!

one final thing...its possible that there might be one space in the band which may be given out through a competition. if anyones interested in playing at glastonbury (including free entry, free backstage access, free food, and transport to the festival) keep you eyes peeled here!

Oh please ignore that MySpace! Is there a recording on there? That's not good at all...it was as we were putting together the songs at the first rehersal someone decided to record us. For some reason we have a MySpace, but none of the recordings on there represent us at all! Please ignore them!

Edit: i really need to sort that out!

III - I'll look at them, they sound a similar sort of thing though. The idea behind the band was got from Stomp but we've tried to distance ourselves from them - we're not really that similar any more!

Fraz - It is the perfect sort of thing at a festival, it makes a helluva noise and people wander past thinking "what the...?" then stop to watch (and hopefully enjoy it!) :P

Thanks for the heads up! The theatre and circus fields are my favourite area of the site so I'll almost definitely check you guys out.

Reckon you'll be on the Blazing Saddles stage, they've had that sort of thing before and it's big enough for all of you.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
