designermagazine Posted April 8, 2009 Report Share Posted April 8, 2009 HUNGRY PIGEON – The Northern Quarter Festival - May 22nd-25th 2009 Manchester's Northern Quarter is one of the most unique districts of Manchester city centre and following a hugely successful inaugural event in 2008 under the name MAPS FESTIVAL which attracted over 6000 visitors to the city centre, Hungry Pigeon in 2009 will put the spotlight on the creative artists both here in Manchester and across the UK. Last year the event saw the likes of The Dykeenis, Ten Bears, Kid British, Gideon Conn, The Brute Chorus, Mistys Big Adventure as well as appearances from rising local bands such as Fraser King, Daniel Land & The Modern Painters and The Vortex Partnering with Manchester City Council this year will see the weekend culminate in a large outdoor stage in a Piccadilly Gardens on the May Bank Holiday for up to 5000 people.
