i just checked my hotmail, and a random metal hammer competiton i entered a while ago has come up trumps, i;ve won two tickets to Hammerfest! i'm supposed to be in woprk all that weekend. that shall have to change...

edit - dammit. if this is the case i am gonna be SERIOUSLY f**king pissed off. first email says 'claim your prize by 17th april'. follow-up email that i just read says along the lines of 'sorry, there was a mistake, claim your prize by 17th march, not 17th april'

BobbyG, i think i see what you mean...

there is a catch. i rung the number, they said i could still have the two tickets for seeing the bands, BUT! accomodation isn't included, but you get a discount rate, £60 for two people for two nights. aye, it might be a f**king shitty chalet in pontins, but for £60 to see all them bands and not stay in a tent, its tempting me... they said i could think about it and speak to my missus before deciding whether we go!

and hopefully i can start the day hungover by a chilly climb up a rickety rusty wet staircase followed by a plunge down a dilapidated flume.

(childhood memories of Butlins there, tho obviously didn't have the hangover at the time...)

maybe they've been struggling to shift tickets...?
