Chris Bennett
I've lurked on here quite a few times, but not got round to registering 'til now; just wondering how much people know about WOOD. It's a spin-off event from the organisers of Truckfest, and there are some quite lovely acts confirmed so far this year like: {BLATANT PLUG STARTS HERE} BRAKES, CO-PILGRIM, DANNY THE CHAMP, DODGY (ACOUSTIC), JIM MORAY, JONQUIL, KTB, MEIC STEVENS, PO' GIRL, SPIERS & BODEN, STORNOWAY, THE WEEK THAT WAS In my head it'll be a bit like Green Man 4 years ago. And once more, sorry for the MASSIVELY BLATANT PLUG. I'm not very good at the internet, but I am excited at the prospect of The Week That Was AND Meic Stevens... oxsandra
It was brilliant last year and I am looking forward to this years already. Last years was really chilled and family friendly. Small but perfectly formed:lol:
Chris Bennett
Lots more bands added! I think this is more-or-less the full line-up, (not including all the other stuff that goes on). I've made the ones that I'm looking forward to the most bold! http://www.myspace.com/woodfestival http://thisistruck.com/wood BRAKES, CO PILGRIM, DANNY THE CHAMP, DODGY (acoustic), GABRIEL MINNIKIN, GOKART MOZART, HOLTON'S OPULENT OOG, JALI FILY CISSHOKO, JIM MORAY, JONQUIL, JOSH BRAY, KARINE POLWART, KTB, LITTLE SISTER, MEIC STEVENS, PO' GIRL, RACHAEL DADD, SAM ISAAC, SPIERS & BODEN, STORNOWAY, TANDARA MANDARA, THE DUSTY SONGBOOK (Robin from Goldrush's newest project), THE WEEK THAT WAS, THEO ALTIERI, TREVOR MOSS & HANNAH LOU. As well as the music, there are all sorts of arts and crafts things going on throughout the weekend!
Tommy
Hey all, Can anyone tell me when Wood actually starts and ends? I know the site states Friday to Sunday, but when do the music stages kick off? Friday or Saturday? And approximately what time do they finish on the Sunday? Any help would be gratefully received. Cheers, Tommy

Tommy
Thanks so much. Really looking forward to this weekend. First festival of the summer, and so early!
oxsandra
First time at this one. What a brilliant little festival. Quirky doesn't quite describe it. It's the first festival I've ever been to that had grass on the main stage roof and a thatched sound booth. Good music, in a laid back sort of way, and a great vibe. The weather didn't spoil it too much as there were plenty of places for shelter (we were gutted when we heard about what happened at BT). Tommy
Just got home, and must say that this was a marvelous little festival. I've never known a friendlier vibe anywhere, and everything about the way it was run was spot on. Joe Bennett has a festival to be proud of... Full review and pics to follow in the next few days. eFestivals
The Wood video gets very high praise in today's Guardian. "For more on Wood, including Isaac performing while not generating electricity, check out eFestivals.co.uk's beautifully-shot 15-minute documentary about the eco-friendly festival at http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/truc...9/video-1.shtml. It's the first of several such films promised by eFestivals this summer and sets the bar impressively high." http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/jun/0...-music-internet Edited June 5, 2009 by eFestivals
