Going on the campervans for the first time this year,in the past when camping we've been up,packed and setting off for our car at 6am to beat the queues, what's it like getting off the campervan fields? Is it another early up and off or is it relatively easy to get off mid morning?Anyone recommend the ideal time to get off, don't wanna be sat there for 5 hours queuing to get off.

Thanks.

I suppose it depends on the weather, but we also need to take a call as to how to dodge the rush - need to return camper in Exeter by lunch time - only an hour's drive, but how many hours off site? Hmmm.. I suppose we'll try leaving about 6am and if we get off quickly just go for a decent breakfast on the way! Anyway if anyone has experience of leaving in a camper Monday morning, I'd appreciate hearing how you got on.

6.00 am you should have no problem providing the car parks are not mud baths.

We used to leave about 7.00 ish in my mates VW and there was very little traffic about.

:D

took us about 20 minutes to get out last year (at about 9am), and we pretty much as close to Ped Gate C as could be. The biggest delay was being held at the gates between fields whilst people lugging stuff back to their cars got through. Darn campers ;-) getting in the way.

However ground was firm and no difficulties for anyone. Would be a different story if very wet i fear !

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
