I know these guys won't be headlining but they are playing with springsteen on sun the 28th at hyde park so the possibility of them playing sometime at glasto has gone up.

I saw these guys at wembley arena in 07 and they are fantastic and i think would make a really good festival choice as they are full of energy and even if you dont know their songs seem to get the crowd going.

My only worry would be if they play one of their impromptu 14 minute jams which would possibly make non DMB followers extremely bored/confused.

Anyone else like to see them play?

i get the impression that DMB are absolutely huge in the US but we're kinda indifferent to them over here. I can imagine this poses a problem where the band expects to be playing higher up the bill at a festival or selling out bigger shows...

It is strange how a band can be so massive in America and not have hardly any success over here...another example would be creed when they where at their peak.

I just think its that sort of folky rock that British people just don't seem to like as much.

However, I believe at a festival they would go down a treat as it is one of hose bands that everyone has heard of even if they do not know anytihng about them so would draw a lot of people who have no paticular band they want to see at that time.

I have only seen them once live (they have only played in Britain once in the last 10 years) and that was the best gig I have ever been too.

As seen in other threads, I'm a bit of a big Dave Matthews Band fan, and really think that they will go down a storm at Glasto.

I've always thought that the reason they aren't huge here is because they never unleashed a sustained attack on the UK music scene. They were so big in the states, they could and still can, play stadiums in the states and always make millions and millions in the process. In my mind they did a half baked attempt at advertising campaign with the 'I am Dave Matthews' posters that were around about 6 or 7 years ago, but apart from that, now't.

That isn't to say that DMB doesn't have a reasonable following in the UK. Many bands wouldn't be able to sell out Wembley Arena, and DMB did it with ease.

I think that they would go down an absolute storm on the Jazz World stage as a headliner. DMB's music is something to dance to, and even when they are going into a 14 minute extended version (not that I think they would do that at a fest), but it would be stuff to keep peoples feet moving. Glasto folks love a good rhythm, and good beat and a good dance. That is DMB all around.

    • That would be perfect!
    • If the festival was on this forecast for the end of the month would really raise the excitement levels 😊😉
    • I think their best chance is to get at Brazil. I though Casemiro in particular but the entire Brazil midfield was awful for the first half of that game, and if McTominay and McGinn press and run past them they've got every chance of getting the lead. You kinda assume Vini Jr and Raphinha will do something at some point in any game, but Brazil look like they're waiting for their stars to make something happen, instead of having a team plan.   I stand by my claim before the tourney that Morocco put 3 past Scotland, which suggests to me they need to nick a draw against Brazil.
    • The dance and pop acts seem to be going down more than the rest lol. Download has turned into 90s fest of the Midlands haha, but it's all silly music no one actually likes lol.
    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
