The verification on my bank card almost lost me my tickets in the resale this year. The verification screen wouldn't open up properly (to choose between verify on app or a call or text) and was just plain white with no text so I was stuck for ages and couldn't do anything- I assume as the page was so busy. After the 'sorry - all tickets allocated' message from the festival on Twitter and the site I assumed I'd lost them. Was really pissed off and I'm not sure why I didn't just close the page in anger, but just messing about I went back, entered everything again and the bank verification page loaded, and they payment went through. I honestly thought it was sold out and I wasn't even doing it with any hope at all of it going through - I'm not even sure what made me try it again as was totally fed up at that point. So I paid for tickets about 10 minutes after the tickets allocated and sold out messages were sent out. I didn't really believe it even with the order number on screen until I could see money had gone from the bank and I got the email.

This worries me for the weekend though myself - if I do get through (this year was the first time in ages) will the bank verification stop me again? 😬

Marvellous! That makes it even worse! Well done for getting the tickets though!

  2. The banking verification whilst in general is a very good thing does add another lever of jeopardy into what already is the most stressful event I willingly sign up for.

I can only imaging the blind panic if I get through around 9:40am on my phone and then need to open an app to approve.

Even worse, if my impoverished student daughter gets through, then rings me then I need to approve on the same phone!

More sleepless nights to come then!

  3. Maybe in order to book a coach from a location For example liverpool your registration needs to be registered to liverpool

If that was in the terms and conditions it could be implemented.

It would prevent the travelling from Bristol to Newcastle to catch a coach back to the festival (example only)

If See tickets found the registration didn't match up they could cancel the ticket minus a fee (again in the T&C's)

I appreciate not every area has access to coach tickets but it could be improved

(sit's down now waiting for the barrage of why this wont work)

THE CV TICKET COVERS THE CV OF ANYSIZE. Each person in the van needs a festival entrance ticket. THERE MIGHT BE DIFFERENT tickets for the bigger cvs, and you'll get away with a tent as long as you don't take the piss.

East campervan field limits you to an 8m camper (plus a tent at the side) anything larger goes to Bath & West show ground.

I stayed in the East this year. Arrived around 4pm on the Tuesday. It was already very, very full

+ Capervan bed, making a cup of team in the morning, lots of space, quiet for a kip

    - My van was exactly 1 mile away from Gate C. queue's to get in were at times horrendous, very little in the way of facilities on the outer fields. I had my missus and 2 girls with me. I was basically a porter fetching water and emptying waste for a couple of hours each morning. They loved the shower facility of the van. I grew to loath it!!!  All this made it impossible to go back and chill in the day. Plus it wasn't mine, I hired it so it made for a very expensive bed!

I personally wont be doing this again. I think I'd rather stay on worthy view (or similar) if my misses wont general camp

I've said similar, I'm prepared to give 2023 a go (ticket permitting!) but if its like that again I may give up going. The busyness everywhere was too much for me and you can have great fun at other festivals as well without the same sort of hassle just getting from A to B.

I agree, went to Green Man in 2021 (i know a completely different sort of festival)but it was such a pleasure getting from A to B that I might end up going for smaller less congested festivals.

I hope I'm successful in the October sales for next year and then I'll see if it was a one off or me just being older and more sensitive to the crowds!

  6. Missed 35 pages of this so apologies if I'm rehashing or irrelevant (generally am!)

This was my 12 year and it was noticeably busier everywhere!

Never felt it was any more dangerous than previous years and I've been in some huge crowds. Rolf Harris(I know!) on west holts, Jessie J on the other and the stones (plus arcadia south east corner etc)

This year It was just much harder to get anywhere!

Wednesday and Thursday were insane (but I originally put that down to people arriving early) Changed my mind when it didn't get much better at anytime. Normally (I find) that when the larger stages open the site is much quieter. Not this year. It remained crazy.

I stayed in a campervan (not for the first time) and access into Gate C was bedlam. The queues could take more than an hour at busy times and i've never experienced that before.

It felt to me like there were noticeably a lot more people on site. I know the capacity went up a little but it really felt like a lot.

TBH, if this is how it's going to be moving forward I'll probably stop going.

The site is huge getting around can be a challenge and all of that I accept and embrace but if we have bad weather it will become a nightmare with so many people.

I for one hope the festival do review the feedback, CCTV and all over sources and continue to innovate and potential reduce numbers!

  7. This was my 12 festival and as a group collectively our 34th

All of us agreed that the site was the busiest we've even know. Everywhere was busy, even when major acts played there were thousands of people milling around.

It feels like more tickets were sold (on top of the extra allowance)

I know the festival had a funding commitment to the 3 main charities due to the covid impact and no revenue but it feels like they  tried to increase the numbers to raise the revenue.

If this is the case I hope it goes back to a smaller crowd.

Confidence Man. I had absolutely no idea what theyre about at all, genre, anything - and i typically like heavy stuff, of which there were very slim pickings this year. Happened along the side of Confidence Man and thought id give em a song, and they were superb 😊 they're very far from what i would normally be interested in, but the enthusiasm and the dancing and just basically everything made it ace. Perfect for festival daytime!

2nd shout out for Confidence man. I'd listened to them prior to the festival but had no idea how good they are live. Real highlight of the festival for me.

Someone else that were fantastic were the Rumble-os   on the bandstand Friday night at 10.40pm

What a noise! they had a trumpet/keyboard player and she was amazing. Will definitely look out for them in Liverpool

Top ‘shithousery’ from you as always. It wouldn’t be the same without @The Nal great work!

    see you on the farm

  10. Best thread of the year competition has been won hands down.

Informative, fun, engaging and up to the minute valuable updates and no bloody arguments!

great work one and all but especially @deebeedoobee

wear a special had and when I see you ciders are on me!

heading down in 1 hour. Can’t wait

  11. I agree its a great location. Stayed there in 2017 with my youngest daughter. We used a pre erected tent set up by Camplite (great service which no longer operates at Glastonbury)

We didn't find it to noisy or anything (and we got to bed by 1pm most nights and slept)

So centrally located to everything we needed

Flags aren't the problem, I'm actually more worried about an increase in smoke flares. They seem more prevalent at football matches this season and I really hope that isn't a trend that carries over.

THIS! 2019 there were enough at lots of stages. I expect this to be worse this year.

It still gets brought up consistently. Especially when tickets for anything come.
Only fair really as it was horrendous
