Thanks - I'm not assuming you'd know whether it's likely I'll be able to be rebooked for lithotripsy atm....it'll be on a hospital-by-hospital basis in terms of waiting lists etc. Obviously anything more essential - cancer-screening etc, I'd rather goes ahead of me in the queue.

Sorry to say but you'll be pretty far down the priority list. Urology procedures (in fact all elective procedures) are bottom of the priority list.

Vaccine role out also impacts on availability of nursing staff meaning clinics are understaffed.

As long as it doesn't cause a blockage it will probably be a while.

Saying that every hospital is different and you might be lucky!

Massively appreciated - I assume to avoid getting more, just keep drinking a shitload of water and avoid sodium/anything that causes dehydration?

Improving your life style is an important step. Staying hydrated and avoiding certain soft drinks and certain foods high in oxalate (spinach, rhubarb etc)

knowing what type of stone you've had is good to know. The most common is calcium but there are others.

like most things in life its important to be healthy, get a good rate of exercise and avoid things which can make the reoccurrence likely!

Learning that right now about getting a kidney stone removed - had it since last July and it's a real ball (/kidney) ache...

thats the field i work in so if you need any information just ask

  4. Covid Vaccination yesterday (AZ) apart from localised pain around the injection site I'm feeling great.

I had Covid early January so was worried I'd be hit hard. So far no issues.

I am just into my 50's (although look much younger!)

    This 100%.

You know when it's been cold and raining for three weeks solid and you can't remember what a blue sky looks like and it feels impossible to imagine that you could ever go outside on a lovely summer day?

It's that. This pandemic will go away. Fully go away. The virus may not entirely leave, but all *this*? It will be over. It's just taking ages, but it will go.

    Exactly this ^^^

Celebrities won’t be able to get the vaccine privately for a long time either. No one can commit to travel.

That’s not strictly true. Especially in the US. I know of medical centres offering spare capacity vaccine to medical reps to ensure it’s used.

this is only a very small step away from private individuals being able to pay and jump the queue.

if rock stars want it they will get it

  7. tested positive on the 3rd. All 4 in our house caught it from the 30th Dec- 4th Jan. Went right through us all despite trying our best to isolate.

I'm still feeling a little rough with fatigue and have had other associated issues such as swollen lymph nodes. I've had the worst of it in my family so i'm not complaining,

Loss of smell/taste is a strange thing and hope it doesn't last much longer.

The way I see it is the mega artists with pots of cash don’t need to play, so many just won’t bother.

For all the other artists they’ll be absolutely desperate to play, as although many of them will be wealthy by normal terms they’ll have lifestyles to maintain and touring and playing festivals is their main source of income.

I will be absolutely delighted if we end up getting a festival, just missing the Kanye/Beyoncé type names at the top of the bill.

I'm happy regardless of who headlines the main stage. I just want the festival to take part.

IF there is no ability for the 'Mega' stars to appear does that make it less attractive to the BBC and other global media outlets who pay to show the coverage.

Could this be a factor in the festival taking place?

We have exactly that issue now dates do clash. This is the first time we’ve been able to get tickets. GCSEs now clash so do we cancel tickets January, we would be even more gutted if we cancelled then it got moved again. Was hoping given the circumstances there may be exceptions to be able to roll forwards, perhaps start a mini campaign to Emily Eavis for that option??

Also to add to previous posts all offering good advice to wait!

for these tickets it’s worth waiting until April when the balance has to be paid.

Yes you run the risk of losing your deposits if you can’t make the festival.

But by then you hopefully will have the full time table and know if the festival is definitely on ( it is)

In the area but some reliable spiller in the euro threads says he’s only accepting headliner slots.

Then again that was for 2020 festivals so maybe something has changed?

Glastonbury has headlining slots galore! If he’d take a lesser stage than the pyramid say the other, which in turn is still a bigger slot than many other main stage festivals. Plus TV coverage

    that may persuade him!
