  1. The accuracy of your comment is matched only by how astonishing it is that it is true, T! 😂 Ben
  2. Late on in the set when the whole thing was lit up with only white lasers, it was spectacular. Ben
  3. For tonight and Sunday... Godspeed You! E/D Threaders. Ben ❤️
  4. Echo everything that @thatTFBguy said! One of the best headliner sets I've seen at any festival. Utterly joyous. Thomas (lead singer) did a little speech about how the band understand how festivals work, with so many choices available for the crowd, and how they were so grateful and happy that we'd chosen to spend our Sunday night with them. The crowd was phenomenal. Not as modest as I wondered it might be, and every single one of us was totally up for it. The crowd singing was amazing (not easy given how unintelligible many of them are, written by a non-originally anglophone!), everyone jumping for the whole set. I saw a few sets in Woodsies and, as is often the case, the sound was 'fine', rather than the utterly stellar systems on West Holts and, this year, the pretty much flawless Park (sound for Fever Ray and Eyes Blood was impeccable). However, for Phoenix it was like they'd put in a new system (I wonder if they brought their own sound engineer, who knows how to set them up perfectly). Every instrument was on point and the vocals, so often a bit muddy in the tent, were spot on. Closing the set with 1901 was perfect, after opening with a riotous Lisztomania, during the former with Thomas leaving us to sing his lines in the pre-chorus - and we did! I've watched half of Elton today and it looks amazing. The field looks incredible and he sounds remarkably good. I'm so glads he played and that so many got the chance to experience that. But, Phoenix in Woodsies? My best decision of Glastonbury 2023. Ben x
  5. One moment caller... Yup. 2am (Sat into Sunday morning) Ben
  6. Disclosure are playing Maceo's, so they're on site. Ben
  7. To the Chosen People of eFests Just so I don't forget, wishing the faithful of the best thread THE BEST FESTIVAL. Have an amazing time, folks, and I dearly hope to meet up with as many of you as possible on a dancefloor. Rave hard and safely, kiddiewinks. Ben x

Upvoted, of course, but don't feed them!!! We know how it all works ❤️ Ben
  9. Difficult to know what you'll get, but lots of smaller venues open. Stuff in the SEC, Rabbit Hole and Bimble in the Park and lots of bars will have stuff going late. I've got one eye on a set in the RH at 2am. Ben

Please don't feed the troll, people. They've been as unpleasant in other threads. Ben x

    The Levels

Absolutely this. Out of upvotes, bud. Ben

    The Levels

That GFL have really tried to reinvent Silver Hayes after years of it feeling like not much more than a cut through from JPT to the rest of the festival is something that should be celebrated. Can't wait for my two nights there this year. I've never really had a night there! Ben

Just about to set off for my last shift pre-Farm. Yes, it's broken, but we're very proud to be a part of it. Ben x
  14. Argh. That presents a real dilemma! Do I sack off a bit of psytrance, head to The Hive for TIBASKO and then dove down to IICON for Underground Resistance, or stick with the Glade Dome a bit longer for my psychedelic fix? A lovely quandary to ponder at the time! Ben
  15. Out of upvotes, but that's a really neat idea 👏🏽 Of course, I will be bringing my beloved militarily curated pieces of paper (one each for day, Thu-Sun, bringing two copies of each!), but I love that! Ben
  16. But, to be more helpful, I'd say possibly that sort of time on the Thursday. Ben
  17. Around 7pm. On Wednesday. Ben
  18. I'd love to help, @thetiffler, but I fear I am not the man for this job! Ben
  19. Oi! We are a non-discriminatory, broad church in here! All genres are as legit as others (I'm looking at you, cheesy tech-house...). DnB included. I really like quality DnB. I just can't dance to it! The bpm doesn't resonate with my feet 🤪 Ben
  20. We had three under 5. I feel your pain. Ben
  21. Ha! Mine have all left home, but Child 1 will be there. Flew into London yesterday from Berlin (he lives there) having gone directly to the airport from playing a 2h set. He clearly sees himself as a burgeoning superstar DJ. The little bugger 🙄 Ben
  22. So excited for TCIC. They were amazing on the WH sound system a few years ago, and I really want to hear them belt out the new record. Could be a set for the ages! Come say hi, if you can pick me out 😂 Ben
  23. Oh Sas, it's a cornucopia of dance riches, isn't it?! 1. What particularly in the SEC is the rival to Helena Hauff? I guess there's Sedef Adasï on Genosys. For me, this year is great as I will have solid parts of TWO nights in Silver Hayes! Who knew? I've seen nothing before on Lonely Hearts (accepting that it only started last year!), so Ben Böhmer, Helena and some of Daniel Avery will be a treat for me. Helena is a very good DJ. She is principally known for her (fairly hard) electro chops, but mixes techno and electro quite beautifully. 2. The Chems will be a massive casual draw. Once they've done, I think there'll be a fair old crowd exchange and getting into FloPo/Daphni should be quite doable. 3. Horses for courses. I'm well known for not liking BH/San Remo, but that's more about me than the venue. What I would say is that HAAi plays very lots of different types of sets. I love her. I'm pretty sure that the type of selections she would make at SR would be the sort of her sets that doesn't work for me. Ben
  24. So, team... We know we all love to dance. But I'm really intrigued by what non-dance stuff the E/D faithful are most looking forward to. Which bands/artists are top of your must-see lists? I'll kick off...list as many or few as you like, but who are you really excited for? DEADLETTER Panic Shack The Comet Is Coming The Murder Capital Working Men's Club Weyes Blood Slowdive Phoenix Whatcha got? Ben
