  2. On current trends but then are all the Justice downvoters wedded to the idea of removing them or are some just evening things up for competitions sake? Can anyone round up any more support to tip the scales in a different direction.
  3. That's not evidence that they'd be more efficient if you transferred the bulk off NHS GPs workload onto them. You might be right that the private sector currently has excess capacity so we'd be using it better if more people went private but that is a world away from you saying everyone other than the very low paid should pay £70 a month health insurance as that would be more efficient than paying an extra £70 a month tax and giving that to the NHS.
  4. I'm not really sure what for profit private companies add to the equation, you're saying everyone should pay £70 a month for private care unless they can't afford it, why not simply ask everyone to pay that same £70 a month more in tax?

  6. I don't think anyone is saying there isn't an issue with GP access in this country what people are arguing is that phone appointments aren't the cause so removing them isn't the solution.
  7. Also this is ridiculous, what are you doing in reply flapping your gills? We are all just saying stuff.
  8. I've heard people complain about getting appointments and the lack of attention and the fact you only get proper care when you are referred to a specialist for years. You can't on the one hand complain that all this NHS in crisis stuff is nothing new whilst simultaneously thinking all the GP issues are caused by remote appointments.
  9. So let's make GPs less efficient by returning to all in person appointments? How does that help?
  10. If they see you in person it takes longer and then even more people don't get appointments.
  11. How exactly when phone appointments are more efficient than in person ones will reverting to in person GPs suddenly fix all this? I get that you find an in person consultation more reassuring and prefer them particularly where your kids are concerned. There is a debate to be had about the quality of service some practices are giving over the phone but the idea that more in person appointments would help fix the NHS workload is for the birds.
  12. @Gnomicide you said you were only downvoting Hot Chip as Justice where out of sight and it was pointless targeting them, well currently Justice are falling whilst Hot Chip hold strong so if you don't want Justice to win it's time to switch votes and start downvoting the French lads.

  14. Whilst of course young women are better protected if they are aware of these things there is only so much you can do, if you are going out you are at some risk and that is horrible. It is also why the onus shouldn't be on these young women to be scared and prepared instead the focus has to be on the attitudes and behaviour of young men. So those of you who have sons probably also need to be having conversations about this too. I have both and they are at the moment far too young to have to worry about this sort of thing, but in a decades time I do admit I have no idea how best to go about these conversations but they need to be had.

  20. You can definitely expect NUFC to not sell arms to the Saudis, I think that's fair.
  21. Constructive point. Have you ever done any canvassing for the Labour Party? Actually speaking to voters and listening to what they say? Outside of young left leaning types the public don't think this government or the previous Tory administrations have been a disaster. People have their gripes and they can be convinced of a better way forward but not by acting like the sky is falling down when it isn't.
  22. The system doesn't help the Tories inherently, the Tories have been better at using the system to their advantage over the last decade, if Labour is to regain power they need to be better at connecting with voters. Whining about the system not being fair won't do that. When you say the Tories have made 5 big mistakes in 18 months what do you mean? There are two big issues in the past 18 months: COVID and Brexit. With COVID most of the public has been pretty lenient on the government as they where dealing with a situation unlike any in our lifetimes, yes there have been mistakes but few that everyone saw coming so it's hard to get too worked up about it. There is of course the giving loads of money to your mates issue, but in general the public think all politicians are bastards so they don't really see that as a party issue. With Brexit most of the public voted for it so just saying it's a terrible idea doesn't convince. Labour needed to set out what a Labour Brexit would have looked like, how it protected things the Brexit voters wanted "sovereignty" or whatever but also didn't lead to some of the problems we are seeing now. Until Labour become a voice for a positive version of Brexit not just complaining about it they won't win back Brexit voters. Other than those two issues where you seem to be out of step with the population at large where is the huge cataclysmic fuck up that everyone is ignoring? Afghanistan? Essentially the US's problem. Gas crisis? Prisicesly why we have the price cap to protect households. Social care? A time bomb that is very much getting worse on the Tories watch but they have at least made some sop to raising taxes despite howls of despair from their own backbenches. The Tories are shits and life for many people gets harder under their rule whilst those at the top get richer but the idea that they have crashed the bus is just wrong for most people. Until you understand that you will never win the argument.
