Think we can rule RATM out now. Just cancelled their 2023 USA tour dates due to Zach's injury.

Maybe that’s what the delay is? Maybe they’d booked RATM and are scrambling around for a replacement (as long as they do a better job of replacing them than Reading/Leeds did haha)

Two members (well… everybody but Jason) have left Fever 333. Wonder if he’ll hire new members and continue under that name or if that’s the end of them for good already.

He did say something on Daniel P Carters show about Reading and Leeds being the last shows before Fever333 starts a new chapter. This was obviously what he was talking about.

Theyve a Uk tour booked for February so looks like they’ll continue with the same name.

I‘m sorry if this has been discussed but I don‘t come to this thread often: Why aren‘t RATM part of the rumor mill anymore? My understanding was they have a festival leg planned for early summer 2023 and I thought Download would be a given if they come over that part of the year.

Can someone bring me up to speed?

Would love RATM to be announced for Download.

I still haven’t got over the PTSD of them pulling out of Reading and being replaced by the 1975.

My colleagues kindly bought me a Ticketmaster gift card as a leaving gift and went to buy Suede tickets today and the code had a green tick but didn’t apply. On looking at T&Cs it appears you can only use these codes on events with physical tickets - thought all TM events were digital/E-ticket now?

I’ve got a few Ticketmaster voucher gift cards too but everytime I try to book tickets  it says that the tickets are ‘on partner site’, which send me to Ticketweb who don’t accept the vouchers!!

Chase and Status time has passed. They subbed in 2013 to Eminem and blew Eminem out the water but since then there stock has taken a dive. There's no way they headline now. They'd be about third down on mainstage now. Do alot of the younger crowd no many songs. They were big with teens and young adults from 2009-2015 but since then I don't think many A level students would know there stuff but they'd still go down well with the energy.

C+S should aim for the dance/rock market that Prodigy and Pendulum can’t fill on their own.
They went down well in Download when they played.

  6. Another one is Suicidal Tendencies’ ‘I saw your Mommy’ and Puddle of Mudd’s ‘She Hates me’.

Even though the lyrics are different,I genuinely thought the Puddle of Mudd version was a cover/officially based on the Suicidal Tendencies until fairly recently.

Doesn’t seem to have been any attempts to sue or anything though.

That day was great, probably still my favourite festival day to date. That little run of Frank Carter > ADTR > Foo Fighters was awesome, plus Shikari earlier in the day. Loved it

Yeah, same here. Though the run of Shikari, Fontaines, Ho99o9, Pendulum, BMTH and AM was great this year too.

Did BMTH reference the fact that the lineup is looking more like V Fest or am I imagining things?

He did say something like that this is getting like V festival but I think he was referring to the lack of mosh pits more than the line up (though of course these two things are linked)

I just thought they were a bit boring and missed a couple of decent songs I was hoping them to play. I think it was also a massive comedown having them on after Kid Kapichi smashed it.

The sound wasn’t the best for Tigercub which obviously didn’t help them.

I remember when my daughter was at Juniors, now 23. Came home and said "Daddy we are learning about the olden times"

"Oh is that the Romans or Victorian times" says I

    " No the 70's "

My daughter was describing Derry Girls as ‘set in the olden days’.

It is set in the 90s.

Stay standing when they ask to crouch down  probably the only bit of rebellion I have left in me 😉

Got to be a sketch in there somewhere about whole audience putting backs out, or old generation all creaking and moaning as they slowly get up.

For ‘rebellion’ read ‘worried that I won’t get back up again’

    Boomtown have responded now too:

I forgot all about the partial refunds. 40,000 people got a partial refund to compensate them for the fact the festival would be scaled back!

Rather than refund £30 each to 40000 people, wouldn’t it be better to spend the £1,200,000 on the line up?

Cerebral Ballzy, early/mid 2010's in The Pit. The lead singer had a fight with a security guard.

Yeah, I saw them in Bristol years ago. The lead singer was absolutely steaming drunk and spent half of the show either lying on his back or trying to avoid falling off stage.

I see him at the bar hours before the show (yes I was as bad as him but I wasn’t on stage haha) and he was polishing off the drink then.

Still wasn’t a bad show though, haha.

What happened to them? Are they still around? Just had a quick google and the trail goes cold at about 2014.

Since this has turned into "well liked artists I don't get", stick Bon Iver on that list for me. Baffled.

Yeah, you can guarantee that all ‘controversial music opinions’ threads will sooner or later become a ‘overrated bands that I don’t like’ thread haha.

Fair enough, I mean - each to their own. But I'm baffled at why you struggle so much with Taylor's popularity or critical acclaim. Almost as if you've got some kind of blind spot.

I can’t see the hype around Taylor Swift either but I accept that loads love her and most of her fans would probably turn their noses up at my musical choices too.

At 52, I’ve long given up trying to work out what others see in artists that I’m not a fan of:

Music above anything is the perfect example of ‘each to their own’ coming into play.

If Metallica are doing the two sets, then that’s my ticket paid for already.

id have paid 2 x £90 for Metallica and probably £50 for BMTH.

Ticket cost me £233, so I’m happy.

    You’re £3 down. Haha

  17. I’m Not 100% sure how cancel culture works, most use it to attract more fans.

‘Come and watch my new Netflix series where I talk about how cancelled I am’

’or let me tell you how I’ve been silenced by coming to my 42 date tour where I talk about just how much I’ve been silenced’

People just lap it all up and don’t realise that they’re being played.

Quite shocking to see how many people on that official forum automatically filter anyone not as left as them into "far right" as if it's only one of the other. Literally exactly what that Disturbed song is talking about and I can't believe I'm defending fucking Disturbed of all bands. They'll be pretty shocked when they see what someone ACTUALLY far right thinks compared to the incredibly mild take of "people online should stop being horrible to each other"

The funniest party is James "don't tread on me" Hetfield is probably headlining two nights and nobody bats an eye 😂

Yeah, for some reason everyone has to be categorised as ‘far right nutter’ or ‘loony leftie’.

    There’s no in between. Haha
