  1. im 39 and been going for years.dont camp any more, ive two mates who live in reading so i stay with them.as an old man i find it much better to wake up on sunday morning after sleeping in a proper bed, nursing my hangover with anadin and orange juice, nice shower, full breakfast, read the news of the world, watch 'goals on sunday' on sky sports, then a few pints in the pub before wondering back down to the festival at about 4pm.not very rock and roll but it makes me feel better when i see unwashed, tired and unshaven campers looking rough and chuckle to myself and remember that that was me 5 years ago.

  2. theres been a few references to NIN playing to small crowds at reading/leeds in 2007.is my mind playing tricks on me?? i seem to remember a large crowd at reading witnessing an amazing live performance!! saying that,i had just been on the beer for 3 days so maybe im not a reliable source.

  3. wow, what a line up!! again i cant see it being true but this would cheer me up no end.last chance to see ac/dc,kings of leon are great live dispite their new album not being their best and green day are amazing(even tho a lot of people seem to think that they are an emo band that formed in 2004)

  4. i know what youre saying!! the last few years ive been looking forward to the likes of rage, metallica, pumpkins, chilis, muse, pearl jam, etc.plus 2nd on the bill bands like NIN,QOTSA and kings of leon(when they were good).im not in the least bit optimistic that this year will have any bands of this magnitude.

  5. Hey Dan,

I would like to say that the bridge was great last year, so well done to them for that.

In terms of changes - can there be less people int he campsite? in fact everywhere?

I've been every year since 2001 and never have I camped in so crowded a space! And we have camped in a very similar spot every year. We were there on wednesday and has plenty of space, but as people kep arriving they kept squeezing in and squeezing in. we even had to ask some people not to pitch their tent so we could actually get out of ours.

This ramming in of people made it seem much more rowdy (in a bad way not a fun way) and really spoilt the weekend for us.

The arena also seemed far too full, but it was more dealable with.

Otrher thoughts I have had are:

    1. The food bit at T in the park where they have all local producers and the like is amazing, providing a much better selection of food, and better quality and value too. Any chance of getting localproducers involved at Reading?

    2. Ethical food sellers, has MF considered asking food suppliers to consider using free range eggs, british meat etc. I appreciate this would put prices up but it would give us punters a choice about where to spend out money.
