  1. Festival organisers should be aware that providing a sub-standard experience may well result in them having no festival, your attitude on this is really complacent, if we have to have compost toilets (and there is no law mandating them) we should at least expect them to be fit for purpose. If they are to be used at larger festivals then a new, better design is needed, there is no reason every punter should have to climb 3 steps every time for example, the toilets can be put on a raised platform with a safe ramp access at the end, there is no excuse for the lack of facilities in the cubicle, the fact is, these have been done on the cheap, hoping the punters will put up with them, maybe some will, but as this thread has shown some will think again before spending their money. It's not as if there is a shortage of alternatives, the festival scene is over-saturated with several going this year, Going green shouldn't mean living like someone in the third world, we have the technology to make things better AND greener, no need to put up with this rubbish.
  2. Good luck with that if you're in Birmingham, Birmingham City Council 'effectively bankrupt' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-66715441
  3. Yes West has gone, I'm pretty much the same as you re: Glastonbury, failed to get tickets for the first time this year and really didn't miss it that much, did smaller fests instead and they are so much easier, will be trying for tickets (depending on price) but won't be gutted if I don't get them.
  4. Campervan West wasn't too bad, still a trek at the end of the day, but East is only doable (for me at least) if you get quiet campervans near the gate, really don't want to be trailing all the way up the fields at the end of a long day. As for Bath & West, done it once, never again!
  5. Fair point, as festival attendees age they want better facilities and Bearded appeals to the older end, so more campervans. I suppose £95 for 4 nights isn't too bad, similar to most campsites nowadays.
  6. 20% for the basic ticket, campervan has gone up by 36%! Maybe they think people who have a campervan can afford to pay more, I've noticed this with other festivals over the last few years I'm seriously considering going back to a tent for some festivals, Glastonbury for one, £150 to be way off site is getting to be too much.
  7. Is this what we are talking about? If so it's pretty obvious that these steps are not safe in a festival setting, rain, mud and intoxicated punters will cause slips, there should be a grab rail for each cubicle not just one at the end. Why would you get rid of urinals? they are the simplest to use and easiest to deal with and take pressure off the cubicles.
  8. We got general release last year plus campervan £175 each + £70 for van £420 plus booking fees total £450.90 This year will be £210 each plus £95 for campervan so £515 plus fees (£40?) total of around £555 so around a 23% increase. Pretty hefty rise, maybe they are covering themselves against increased costs or a possible non-sell out, will still be getting tickets but the increase is a bit of a shock.
  9. I get you, and it's true, there have been studies proving the link with clotting from the vaccines. Thing is, this study is from 2020/21 so from the original, more dangerous form of covid, it has since mutated to the milder Omicron variant (and now the latest type) we don't know if the new strain is as bad for clots or if it causes them at all, hopefully the clotting and long covid will be far less of a problem now.
  10. This study was of unvaccinated patients, what do you mean by "been linked with vaccines"? This research was purely about the effects of covid not of any effect of the vaccine.
  11. I know, just wanted to show how those that trusted the government and the so called independent advisors were being fooled, Van Tam is and clearly was, in the pay of the vaccine companies.
  12. Some of them were scientists, people like Jonathan Van Tam deputy chief medical officer, wonder what happened to him? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/jonathan-van-tam-job-moderna-vaccine-b2395006.html
  13. Ruined by having the "wrong" opinions! You wanted everyone to agree with the government and prevailing "scientific" narrative, much of which has since been shown to be wrong, no one on here now wants to discuss Covid but unless we learn from what happened and how we were misled we will just accept the same crap next time.
  14. You are a total hypocrite, you hated the thread and in fact closed Two Covid threads, if it was so great why not reopen it so we can discuss the many new facts that have come to light over the past couple of years? Stevie might then know that "face nappies" were in fact pretty much useless in stopping the spread, something some of us suspected at the time but have now had confirmed.
  15. Have any of your multiracial colleagues complained? It's possible some of them may actually want to watch it (I'm not saying it's likely!) The point is, it is you that has the issue and want to prevent others seeing it, maybe you could have an in-store referendum?
  16. Didn't defend it, but don't let facts get in the way, I criticized Crazyfool's attitude to someone else watching it, he clearly wants it banned because he disagrees with the politics they promote, who made him the moderator of his workplace? Other people have the right to their opinions however much you may disagree with them. Think he is overstating his case here though, if it was as racist and hateful as he claims I doubt it would be on air. He can always complain to Ofcom if he thinks they have gone too far. (he will have to actually watch it to do that though!)
  17. You believe in "diversity" but can't abide hearing different political opinions? Not only that but you want to dictate what others can view? Hopefully your attempt at censorship will be ignored but I wouldn't be surprised if it works.
  18. So you didn't answer my question, why don't you call out Stevie when he is abusive? Do you want action taken against him too or just Fish and Fray?
  19. So why don't you call Stevie out when he posts abuse? You just want to ban people who you dislike or disagree with, it's time to live in the real world, there are people out there who think differently from you, you will learn more from discussing things with people you disagree with than just repeating the same old arguments with people who share your view. I disagree with almost everything you post but I'm not going to block you despite how infuriating your view is at times. I come on here for a alternate viewpoint that challenges my own ideas. A wide range of opinions is healthy, echo chambers are not.
  20. Starmer is so pathetically transparent, BTW why is it O.K. to call female football players "lionesses" but female actors have now to be called actors rather than actresses? Do the men's team get called "lions" if not why this stupid name?
  21. We don't know the system would work properly while Seeticket's servers are getting hammered, the authorization process needs multiple requests and responses from outside systems, makes each individual booking far more lengthy and prone to failure. It's not just down to the bank's systems but the communication with See which is flaky at best during the sale.
  22. Sounds great, you should read this story, I'm not usually shocked by political wrongdoing and dodgy dealings but this one takes the biscuit, "Leaked documents reveal how Liam Kavanagh used Thurrock Council's money to buy luxury goods, including a yacht and a private jet. The council has been made effectively bankrupt after investing £655m in Mr Kavanagh's solar farm business." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66340991 Full background here, https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2023-07-31/the-sunshine-millionaire-how-one-man-took-130m-from-british-taxpayers What's really eye opening is the fact that other councils and public bodies such as West Yorkshire Police have then lent public money to Thurrock council as an investment, these institutions are always claiming they are short of funds but seem to have spare money to gamble with, the whole thing stinks.

    The 1975

Turns out they didn't do either, It looks like WAFF was the problematic one, it was a shorter set 20 songs vs the usual 25, exact same set as Nancy, France with WAFF replaced by Resistance (!). I suppose self censoring for bad language is not so bad if you are playing a more conservative country, better than compromising on your political beliefs anyway.

    The 1975

The article specifically mentioned the title rather than the content so I'm currently thinking it may be "We are f**king f**ked". Recon it's one of the 2. (even efests doesn't like the title, censorship in the enlightened west too).
