Nothing better than when - after a long day at a festival seeing all sorts of bands, drinking since 11am and putting in the miles to see the site and take in the experience - you arrive back to your tent knackered and dying for a kip so you can do the same the next day and someone's outside your tent dressed in a silver thong, dancing like Partyboy out of Jackass and calling you a wet blanket c**t for not enjoying the festival properly.

Here is an aerial view of The Worthy View area from the last festival:
-
By that argument the entire festival is an exclusive area for rich people, because not everyone can afford the ticket price.
Enjoy your weekend you posh elitist Tory scum.

Much as it pains me to say it, I agree with Russy here. I can understand why older people who have been a few times may want to miss out on the Wed queues and want to "go posh," even if it's not for me.
However, as a first timer, you'll experience so much more staying with us lowlife.

I really don't get all the hate from some people on here for Worthy View camping, you really would have to be a bit soft in the head to consider in "glamping" if it is glamping then so is having a campervan / caravan or for that matter a tipi which are more expensive than Worthy View. This is Glamping:All changed for me in 2009 when Glastonbury Festival made a big error in letting the cat out the bag about Wednesday opening, previous to this you could waltz in any time on Wednesday and find a spot in Big Ground or Pennards now you cant or struggle for space and the mêlée to get in is a joke. Impossible to put the toothpaste back in the tube with that one so we are stuck with it.After last year although I managed to be on site and putting up tents on Big Ground at 8.10am a swore never again and the plan was to have a tipi, but we are a couple of people down babies etc., so we booked a bell tent in Worthy View as a back up in case we can not have the tipi.Clearly still rather have the tipi with its prime location, however if it comes to it we will be in Worthy View for a little less money can park very close to the bell tent and we will leave a pop up tent in Pennards to guarantee we only have to back to the bell night once every night. Some moron is going to moan about the extra tent now, however this is what a lot of campervan / caravan people do and for the same reason.Added to this I own a bell tent and know they are fantastic although I would never bring mine to Glastonbury.

Does Caribou qualify as dance? if so i would give a scrote to hear 'swim.' I hear they normally play live which must be immense. Missed it in previous years
-
Booka Shade have to play surely new album coming out new single out (free download from their site).
Headlining a dance tent I would have thought.
They are playing in London in March for anybody interested.

Ahh shrooms. Ideal at Glasto. I can remember holding on to the grass next to my tent laughing my head off. I thought the earth had lost it's gravitational pull and that I'd fly off into space had I not clutched the grass. Why I found this hilarious is the stuff of psychiatrists dreams!

Yeah, I like to do that loop from the bottom of the Acoustic, round past the circus, into the caberet, comedy bit and up to the Avalon. It's great.

I saw them at bestival in 2010 I think and it just seemed to be an angry man shouting swear words at me.
I was cringeing a bit

Here are a couple of tipi threads I had saved when I was first thinking of getting one, defo in one this time round.

Here is the thread for 2011
That brings back painful memories as the rain on Friday from 3pm when The Wu-Tang Clan started on The Pyramid, not that it was their fault, is what fecked the site.
The worst of that rain had been forecast to go north with Glastonbury only getting 3mm, which would have been no problem, however we know what happened it really came down all night in fact I might lookup how much fell
NFC NFC
EDIT
I regret looking this up now:
Shepton Mallet Between (Friday June 24 2011 3pm - Saturday June 25 2011 6am): 8mm rain fell
Just to compound how unlucky Glastonbury was....
Yeovil Between (Friday June 24 2011 3pm - Saturday June 25 2011 6am): 2mm rain fell

Here is a bigger picture if you zoom in it appears to be called "The Spiral Chai Cafe"

I've done the Penard's twice and last year was in a Tipi and it's definitely the way forward if you don't mind paying the extra lump. This year there is a crew of 20 of us that we are going to balance out through a few Tipi's.
-
Oh dear now I have confused things. It was infact a see through dome thing that you sat in whilst listening to trippy music and dancer people. Think there was a dj in there and it was more like a little chill out dome that reminded me of an igloo for some reason!

As has been mentioned above getting space at the "good" spots has become such a trauma I am finished with it, in 2011 I slept in the car and got my space on Big Ground, but only because they opened PGC early, I was on site at 08.10 and even then it was almost full, (for big groups) by 11.00.
Next year I will be in a tipi, four of us confirmed with tickets and a fifth trying in the resale, so much less hassle. I will train down on Wednesday afternoon waltz in after all the queues have gone, dump rucksack in the tipi and straight to the cider bus, no tent to put up no tent to take down and pack up and guaranteed excellent spot next to the park.
-
I am presuming you mean this:
-
That was on site in 2008, 2009 and 2010 if my memory is correct, although is was down in the south east corner.
It was very good nice and trippy

2007 - Best
Kasabian leaving towards The Dance Village for Fat Boy with the entire crowd still chanting the LSF "chorus"
2007 - Worst
Weather was so depressing we snapped eventually I missed The Chems and my mate missed The Who as we left Sunday morning.
2008 - Best
The Glade Thursday night after years off disco biscuits, my mate turned up Thursday night in the rain with some serious strong examples, it all kicked in at The Glade it was like being hit by a train (in a good way).
2008 - Worst
Hard to think of anything bad, might be the year I forgot about the Fun Lovin Criminals at Jazz World which was disappointing.
2009 - Best
Altern8 Thursday night at The Dance Village not loud enough, but a real oldskool blast for someone like me.
2009 - Worst
I had to leave Sunday morning, will never go in a minibus again as committed to a group leaving together.
2010 - Best
Orbital were fantastic best performance I have ever seen, also bumped into some nutter at the front lol.
2010 - Worst
Bad shroom trip at Arcadia needed to be away from people clearly not a good place to be at such a time and I could not find the way out. Walking back to the tent I was paranoid that everyone was looking at me, then I remembered I was wearing flashing glasses and I had glow sticks around my neck and on my head, saw the funny side and felt better
2011 - Best
DJ Shadow and his "Shadowsphere" was pretty special.
2011 - Worst
Having too much cider on the Saturday resulting in me not remembering The Chems, well I remember the start and the DJ we were watching at The Glade afterwards.
Glastonbury 2008
Still my best year and will never be beaten you could still turn up on Wednesday and get a good spot with no trouble as Wednesday opening at the time was something of a "secret", also first year of Shangri-La and possible to walk down there with no problems at any time.
