  1. I'm not sure really. I've looked back at the headliners they had and actually they aren't as bad as I thought, not my taste but big names on the whole headlining, but I don't recognise many of the names further down the lineup so maybe all their money went on the big names?
  2. Yeah I couldn't believe the decline of V Festival from the early 2000s when they had great headliners, Foos, Radiohead, Oasis - to becoming very pop orientated and resorting to buy one get one free tickets just a few years later (so it wasn't just not to my taste but not to anyone's taste). Although it had its faults (many of which I wasn't aware of at the time as I hadn't been to any other festival), it was a shame how it declined. Locally it was a rite of passage for teenagers to go after A levels, and sometimes GCSEs.
  3. I went "yes!" when I saw this and then remembered I don't even like cider! But it's iconic!
  4. I could have written this post (except I don't think I've ever knowingly used the word domgmatic). I have never been at the cutting edge but I never have found a problem finding people to see (thanks to Brave Sir Robin's playlist of course). Hell, if I did, there's always Theatre, Cabaret, Circus, general bimbling, etc etc.
  5. No. In fact I've never, ever seen it on TV coverage. Funnily enough I wondered about asking this question myself.
  6. Despite having three copies of the hardback version of the Glastonbury book (obvious present for people to buy me), I have never read it properly as it's a bit cumbersome to hold. Today I downloaded the kindle version for £2.99 which I will probably actually read (and then I can look at the pictures in the big book).
  7. Like others, I think this resale was completely different to others and you can't read anything into it. Tickets returned to the pot were bought 2 1/2 years ago and many people's circumstances will have changed since then, both from normal life events (babies, marriages, divorces, illness, etc) and these will have been exacerbated by the pandemic and the current political situation - jobs lost, belts having to be tightened, and some people just haven't really come out of the lockdown mentality and started thinking about "normal life". In addition, I know that for us who are on these forums and follow Glasto accounts on twitter it's difficult to realise, but I don't think there was as much talk about Glasto resales this year. For the casual ticket buyer who might be tempted to have a go, they may not even have been aware of the resale. Certainly my kids, who have more than a casual interest in music, but not interested in going to Glasto this year, weren't aware of it until I asked them to try for me.
  8. I think it is, yes. I always stumble across it but probably couldn't find my way there if I wanted to. Story of my Glastos really! And thinking about it, it's nearly always the Frank Sinatra type in a suit who's singing!
  9. Yes my daughter worked in Goose Hall - she was there for a total of 7 weeks (I think or maybe 5?) - during set up before and take down after. I camped with her there in 2016 - great location!
  10. That's the one I was trying to remember - I knew it was Summer something.
