  1. I have checked my coach ticket. Why the f**k did I book my return from Glastonbury to Bristol and then Bristol to Birmingham? What was I thinking? Ah well, I'll survive I guess. Edit - the direct is half an hour later and £20 more. Hmm, shall I change it if I can, I think I might.
  2. I lived extremely dangerously this year. I was on holiday and only got home at 5 on Tuesday, 2nd. Balance paid by 8.
  3. Everyone retreated to their tent at the same time because of the rain!
  4. God was it really that early on site! But you're right actually, we walked straight in, set up tent, chatted to a few people and then there was a tiny bit of rain and I took a photo from my tent - just checked the timestamp and it was 1143.
  5. Oh and if you're travelling to pick up the coach in Birmingham from out of area, it's probably worth booking accommodation for the night before with free cancellation so that you can stay the night before if you need to. As I said, our coach was 5.45 am! If you want, I can let you know the name of the place we stayed.
  6. See Ticket coaches don't go from the coach station in Digbeth but from next to the Hippodrome Although I've taken the coach from Birmingham many times, I can't remember how long it takes! But I think last year we got the 5.45 am coach and were on site around 1? There's a stop at services of half an hour or so to give out tickets (usually, but not last year, we just pulled up at the side of the road somewhere). And you won't know what time coach you're on til May either. I'm with Scrump, why does buying Wednesday tickets make your friend an idiot?
  7. Clever bastards these Spaniards! It's not fair cos that song wasn't even out when I was 17 so how was I supposed to know that if you lie when you're 17 it always rains on you? And who told Fran?
  8. Surely they lie every time they say they'll do something manana?
  9. Ha ha! Yeah, I was fondly imagining that by the time I returned from Italy, the weather would have turned a corner, I would be sitting in the balmy sunshine having my lunch with my washing flapping on the line and an early evening walk across the fields in prospect when I finished work. Not a chance. And it even rained in Italy. In Naples it absolutely chucked down for a whole afternoon with rivers of water running down the cobbles. Bah. Maybe I lied a lot when I was 17 too.
  10. I've just come back from a tour of Italy and was doing about 30k steps a day - some of which very hilly. One day I managed to crack 40k (not intentionally, we got lost!). Was hoping to keep up and do 10k a day on my return but failed on the second day (desk job, shopping straight after work, quick meal and meeting friends at the pub didn't allow much time). But hope to certainly try to get each day up to a figure approaching it). Last year after Glasto I managed to do >10k a day until August and then averaged 10k most weeks until the end of September. But it's hard in the darker, wetter months. I bought a walking treadmill off ebay which helped but have lapsed seriously over winter!

    The Who were in 2015.
  12. If he was there, he'd probably be on my "to see" list too.

I remember Earth Wind and Fire urging the crowd to jump and me thinking "I can't, I'm literally stuck in the mud"! Abd watching Richard Hawley up at the Park, it was a slog to get up there and I was practically falling asleep standing up I was so knackered!
  14. Yeah similar here really. I was a bit "meh" about the poster but was also slightly relieved that there are no huge must sees for me - I stressed so much about how to get a good position for Macca! Also with you on the National as the only headliner so far but there are a few maybes - Coldplay will be great I'm sure but not bothered if there's something else I want to see then as I've seen them before. Now just to start stressing about the stage drops and the weather of course! Oh and with you again about Earth Wind and Fire and Art Garfunkel in 2016! Amazing! I saw Adele too but can't remember who my third headliner was (if I saw one at all, I may have just wandered a bit!) Edit - just remembered when I was answering another thread - it was Richard Hawley up at the Park - that was a slog!
  15. 2016 was made bearable for me as my daughter was working there for 6 weeks. So I left my tent with her when I dropped her off and she put it up for me took it down when she finished 3 weeks after the festival ended. So long and short of it, I didn't have to put up and take down my tent, bedding etc in that mud. It was hard work but the music was fantastic that year!
  16. I think initially they took it off to add Faithless who are now on it. So maybe they forgot to re-upload it properly afterwards,

Tricky because I agree the lineup was brilliant in 2016 but bloody hell it was hard work. But actually, surprisingly there wasn't that much rain over the weekend, it was mostly beforehand. Agree with Northernangel that watching someone in the pissing rain is not fun. And then, last year, 2022, 2019 were if anything too bloody hot. I struggled. So could I go for midway for both please, early 20s, no rain, decent lineup but not stellar.
  18. That's odd, this is what is on there when I click on the lineup tab. (Couldn't get the whole poster but you can see it's there).
  19. If you click on the link on the home page it's missing but if you click on the line up tab at the top of the home page, it's there.
  20. Blimey you're going full on retro there aren't you. I don't think it's likely. But what do I know?
  21. 100% this. Never would even cross my mind. I think it's easy to focus on the things you don't like and feel they're over-represented, but you can only see one act at a time so it doesn't matter who else is playing where. I know that there are places I keep meaning to spend more time at (BBC introducing springs to mind) so I will intend to spend some time there. But I bet come 1 July, I'm back here to say I still didn't get there as I got caught up with loads of other stuff. (Still haven't been to Glasto on Sea either).
  22. Quite enjoying Camila Cabello - nice bit of Samba dancing in the afternoon sunshine. Not so enjoyable if it's pissing down I suspect.
  23. He sounds so like his dad doesn't he, but with a modern slant. Hope to catch him at Bearded Theory so I don't have to worry about making it at Glasto.
  24. Love Yard Act - saw them in Williams Green in 2022 and have listened to them regularly since then. There is something about his voice that just puts a smile on my face. And funnily enough I got to Black Pumas in my playlist today and really liked them too. We must have similar taste so is there anyone else you'd recommend?
  25. Hmm, hadn't really thought about that, but how about the unofficial, second legends slot a la Nile Rodgers. We haven't had all the Pyramid acts named yet. I'm not going to give up that easily.
