Yeah I think I've just seen people on here saying it.

All in the main tent. I don't think the cafe is there now? But even if it is they'd have a separate lineup poster (though some from the main tent used to also appear in the cafe)
  3. Was just coming to say that!

I'm sure if they wanted to play, room would be made for them! I think with Scott saying they're playing early Friday, they've got the Hobo slot - which I'm happy with! Great way to "start" the festival.

I don't think it would be with the Donnicans - not at this stage anyway or Scott wouldn't have said what he did. Though I'm sure if the Hobos wanted to make an appearance at anytime at Avalon, they would be welcomed. Maybe they're just not able to commit?

Scott Doonican has said they are playing Friday early. I asked him if that meant the Hobo slot but he didn't know - he wasn't even aware the Hobos weren't playing until the poster came out.

Maybe we should just put our tents inside the Avalon tent?

Another solid line up. Lots that I wouldn't mind seeing but I don't think there's anything unmissable, which is just the way I like it - I'm happy to see The Feeling, Frank Turner, Haircut 100, Lucy Spraggan, Lulu, Shaznay Lewis, Cat Empire, and also Barstewards, BC Camplight, Cut Capers, New Model Army but most of those later ones are at Bearded so will probably see them there. So actually, I know that if I'm stuck for anything else, I can just wander over to Avalon and will probably catch something I like! If you haven't see Old Time Sailors, do try to - they are so much fun!
  9. Yeah the only reason I didn't mention them is that they're at Bearded in May and I'm planning on seeing them then.
  10. Yay! Old Time Sailors! Barstewards! Haircut 100! Frank Turner! Good stuff there!
  11. They're one of those acts where when someone who's never been asks afterwards what was your highlight and you try to explain that one of them was enjoying cheesy music dj'd by two women dressed in pinnies and waving around feather dusters. And then you give up and say one of the headliners.
  12. Just a Couple of Mums hearted my question about Glasto 24! Niche I know but always great fun!
  13. And last year, when I was on a cruise, Brian Connolly Jnr appeared on the bill. I was fearing a naff tribute act complete with blonde wig. But no he was actually really good, very entertaining in his own right with just a nod to his dad. Sorry - probably a bit off topic, not going to be at Glasto!
  14. Bloody love the Sweet - my first obsession aged about 9 or 10. But I don't think it's the same song.
  15. I've realised that for at least the last two Glastos I haven't spent weeks in the lead up looking out of the window, and commenting on whether it's raining or not and what that means for the condition of the ground at the festival (much I'm sure to the delight of all my colleagues). That's because the last few years it hasn't been as wet in the long term run up and I've been saying "it doesn't matter so much about immediately before the festival, it's how much the ground is saturated" (again much to the interest of my colleagues). I'm sure 2016 was so bad because it had been raining forever beforehand and new rain had nowhere to go. Ah well, acoustic lineup is ok - I can shelter in there if need be!
  16. 100%. In 2022 when I was trying for coach tickets I had a plan to go literally anywhere to get the coach - Glasgow, Edinburgh, Brighton, as I say literally anywhere. My plan was that I and my husband would drive to said place for a long weekend and he could then drive home leaving me to get the coach to Glasto. I'd then book a National Express back from Glasto to Birmingham. All went to plan ... until I didn't get tickets. (Someone got them in the general sale for me instead).
  17. Yeah I guess so, but nevertheless a Wednesday ticket rather than Thursday needs an additional day's leave, regardless of where travelling from.
  18. Still need the extra day's leave for the Wednesday though. But not for the Tuesday - as you can say you can travel after work on the Tuesday night if you need to stay over.
  19. Didn't they headline a year or two back? I might be misremembering though.
  20. Yeah that sounds right. It was lovely, I turned to the woman next to me and she was crying too! It was just the right place at the right time. He's never been someone I've liked really and I'm not sure if I want to spoil that memory by seeing him play a full set.
  21. Yeah I might well try to catch him. And the Manfreds.
  22. Actually if it's pissing down, I'd stay for Ralph and then OCS for the shelter!
  23. Bloody hell, how did I miss Russell Crowe? Thinking about it Albert Lee, followed by the Manfreds and then Russell Crowe might be an ok afternoon. God, I'm old! I wouldn't stay for Ralph McTell though, that's too far! (though I must admit to shedding a few tears at his rendition of Streets of London in the Leftfield a few years back).
  24. Not sure about the "please don't miss" comment! They did that last year as well didn't they? Just seems a bit odd!
  25. A few on there I'd be happy to see but nothing unmissable. I have a soft spot for Paul Jones so might well end up seeing the Manfreds - I think I've only ever seen his blues band before. As I say, nothing unmissable but certainly things I'd wander in and see if the time's right.
