One of our gang is, genuinely, considering whether this news is the tipping point for him not paying his balance, and buggering off to do something else in Glastonbury week! Does Crumble Shack have any idea what it's done here?!

    Ben

Listen, I love a crumble far more than the next man, as my body or my family would attest.   I went to them last year for first time and it was every bit as delicious as people said (hence I went again)...

...however, it shouldn't be the tipping point.

There are other fantastic things to eat there, even (I hate to say) other crumbles, but of course the cornucopia of other stuff should be what decides it 😊

Sister Bliss headlined at my local festival - was a Dj set making good use of Faithless tracks. F*cking brilliant. Can’t wait to see her again (bar shifts allowing)

That's great to get some positive feedback

    Hi folks,

We're landing into BA at 4pm on the Wednesday. Current plan is to grab a taxi there, stop for booze en route, and then make our to Worthy View. Our flight back is 7pm on the Monday then.

    Couple of Qs:

    - Can anyone recommend a decent taxi service to arrange one back? Had one lined up but they won't collect past 12.30pm which is a bit early for us.

    - I presume the collection point is the Bath and West Showground?

    - Are there any coach options for just the trip to Bristol Airport on  Monday? Checked National Express but only seems to do return services

    Thanks!

As @incidentsays, they seem to have national express options to and from the airport here https://www.nationalexpress.com/en/events/glastonbury

Also as m Indicated taxi could take ages and therefore cost a lot, which would be exacerbated by going to Shepton or somewhere for booze.  Either ask a friend  to pick some up that you collect from the car park when you arrive (which can be quite a, walk), get a shuttle into town after you set up camp, or use the money you save on the taxi in the bars for nicer/colder drinks 😉

@clarkete Is correct, I have never witnessed anyone wanting a B&W campervan pass instead of an East campervan pass! It's similar to deciding between a VHS or Betamax video player, nobody ever said back in the day they wish they had chosen Betamax!

Hang on, now you've gone too far!

We had several betamax videos, the tapes were smaller and it was better video quality.  The first very early one was built like a tank, mind you it did cost what was a fortune in those days, so I made the most of it by pirating lots of tapes 😄

You're right that it lost out when the rental market went big time for VHS.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine.  My opinion is that it is possible, and I haven't seen a convincing argument that it isn't.

You don't need to worry about it though - it doesn't affect you in the slightest. 😉

Just focus your efforts on the resale and you'll be fine, but you will need to be fairly swift 🙂

Not impossible if there's a group of people all intending to camp together in CV East and only one of them actually manages to get a CV East ticket.  They might not want to stump-up for an additional B&W ticket to camp with their friends but might be happy to do a swap.

Listen, not trying to oppress you, but you notice how you're the only person who thinks it's possible and all us folks who spend a lot of the year on here say it isn't?  😉

They must run out of rain soon!! 😆 It's a quagmire around my local walk, and the bottom of our garden has been consistently under water for 6 months. Still, the frogs are enjoying it.

Can we have a picture of your pond?  Will cheer me up about my dead lawn

I wouldn't be so sure.  If I was the only one in my group to get CV East and all my mates were in B&W I would swap.  It's unlikely that anyone is in this position, but not impossible.

Yep, I've got a page checker on the go too, cheers!

It is impossible, simply as if anyone wanted b&w they were available for much longer.

As everyone says, get what you want in the resale (as ever with helpers if necessary) and return what you don't want.

    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend anywhere to fill the water tank on our van before arrival on Tuesday afternoon? We are driving down from Manchester so don't want to travel with a full tank.

Only our second time with a van, so relative newbies. We assumed we could fill up on site, but the company we used to hire the van didn't provide an attachment. Would rather enter with a full tank and top up as we go if needs be

    Thanks, E

It doesn't have the barrel you can roll to the fill up tap?

Despite all the above, the Tories kept winning elections. The left has never had a solution. All they did was blame Murdoch, dismiss the voters for  and denounce the one Labour leader who won an election.

That last point, let's not let you pretend this is their fickle supporters.

I think for most folks despite countless great things they did he's been denounced by most because in spite of the biggest march in UK history they invaded Iraq and caused hundreds of thousands of casualties.

No Labour government has ever left office with unemployment lower than at the start of their term.

On the other hand, the highest ever rates of unemployment have happened under the tories.

as i see you've already noticed that unemployment had reduced from its worst, the result was that things felt less grim when she left office than they'd done during much of her time in office (unless in Scotland  I saw someone  claim. 😛)

You named one thing that was listed on the source I included and stated you were wrong.  Your anecdotal experience did not a summer make.

the ability to get a job - [country-wide unemployment fell].

things weren't the same desperate and grim they had been before and during thatcher.(at least, in my experience).felt like there was a bit more hope.

As @Nobody Interesting has shared, the link I included earlier proves that wasn't the case.  It lowered from the record level she pushed it to, but was still  higher than before she came to power.

Congratulations on getting a ticket, hope you have a great year 🙂

things were better by the time she left office than they'd been at points when in office, probably due to north sea oil revenues. unemployment reduced, etc.

    Which things specifically?

  16. 4 hours ago, Neil said:

I didn't say benefits from thatcher I merely noted that the country wasn't in the same deep sh*t all the time she was in office.

Well except for the record unemployment, the recession, slashing NHS funding thereby causing increased queues and closed wards, the increased crime rates, the poor state of many state schools due to underfunding, the selling of council houses but idiotically without any commitment to create further social housing,
