what about the corona virus. what if they are forced to cancel Sziget

We have absolutely no input on that. If that decision is made, then we discuss it. Until then, Sziget is taking place and that'll be the focus of our discussions.

  2. So, which three acts that are around, available and possible do you hope are revealed in the next announcement?

I've got my fingers crossed for:

    1. Biffy Clyro

    2. Sam Fender

    3. Royal Blood

After the Mad Cool announcement, the Sziget line up is looking for grim reading at the moment, disappointing to say the least thus far when you step back and analyse it

I agree, Mad Cool line-up is better and I'm hoping Sziget's second announcement gives us some half decent additions like Biffy but bear in mind the locations and durations of each festival.

Not sure what you're taking about. A$AP, Jon, Altin Gün and KOKOROKO are decent. Major Lazer are not mind blowing but are always fun. I would rather avoid Sunday, especially if Shawn is headlining...

I'm not a fan of any of those, especially the likely 1-2 of ASAP and Major Lazer which, to me, would be like hell on earth.

But, you know, each to their own.

If you think Eminem would do dozens of arenas and stadiums across the globe, you know nothing about he is touring nowadays.

24 is dozens (two of them in fact). If he plays that many I'll await your apology.

If he plays less then I will bow before your superior knowledge and declare you King of All Things Marshall Mathers.

  6. I suspect they are in the hands of Eminem's management who are probably in the process of booking dozens of arenas and stadiums across the globe so he can tour through summer and beyond.

Add in all of the infrastructure arrangements to transport staging, and the workforce behind the tour, I doubt that it's a quick job. And, inevitably, will be one prone to delays.

    Eminem news?💔

Yes, he's now identifying as female in order to help Sziget achieve a gender balance.

Apparently, Kings of Leon will be doing the same.

  8. Wow. Limp Bizkit?!? No offence to your taste guys but that would be a horrific booking in my eyes.

Nu-metal was in vogue for a few weeks in 2000 but twenty years on I thought most people viewed it as a bit of a joke?

As I say, no offence to your tastes but, in my eyes, booking them wouldn't show Sziget in a particularly progressive light.

Hello, this year I’m going to sziget for the first time.
Any chance to see Liam Payne, Little Mix or 5SOS(even though 5sos performs in Budapest in june) ?

thank you for your answers :)

    I certainly hope not.

  10. I don't think they're a sub-level act either but I'd have said the same for Jain.

I suspect we are are five or six short for main stage and a dozen short for A38.

But could be completely wrong! I hope we get a couple more decent guitar bands.

Also, I watched Major Lazer on You Tube last night. Now, maybe I'm old but I thought they were absolutely awful. It'll be a night out in Budapest on that day!

I'm getting ready for reading angry comments shitstorm on social media when we have the final line-up... it happened with R&L in 2018, so it can happen to Sziget too. If they'll have Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, KoL, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer, The Strokes, but no Eminem, it's going to be even worse than the 2017 edition honestly.

Agreed, but I suspect it would sell a shot-load of tickets. Just not, perhaps, to Sziget's usual attendees.

Don't think that's the line up we're going to get though.

WHAT IF...Calm Down is actually You Need to Calm Down by Taylor Swift.

I mean she is in US 1st August, but no further dates there, so she could be somehow exclusive.

So that's Due Lipa, Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift? That sounds like waaay too much pop to me!

    What say you @JBarbour

The greatest female artists (by reputation and/or voice and/or live performer) would be some kind of Madonna, Celine Dion, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey. They all seem to me impossible this year for different reasons. ALL the others I'm thinking of ( Alanis Morissette, Dido, Cristina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears ...) seem too old if we take the "a bit older than Lizzo" thing.

So just "behind" these women : we have Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry and Lana Del Rey. Maybe Kelly Clarkson.

I'm confused, I thought that through a process of elimination it only could be Katy Perry?

If it's Lana that means she and Shawn are 2018 returning headliners and I'm hoping they wouldn't do that to us. Plus, she's the worst live act I've ever seen.

Not sure Avril is big enough anymore, but would love to see her as sub.
