It's beyond me how this band is not bigger? (Sunday, "The Buzz" stage). If you are missing bands and rock from the lineup, check them out.

Just noticed they're playing the main stage at Reading/Leeds Festivals, same stage and day as Raye, Fontaines DC, Lana and Fred. Strange.

    Kinda like Kylie Minogue

I can only use the UK as a barometer, but Kylie is playing British Summer Time Hyde Park this summer to 65,000 people. The first two tiers of tickets have sold out and tier 3 is selling at £105 a ticket (125 euros).

When she played the legends slot at Glastonbury in 2019 it was the most watched Glastonbury TV slot ever, with almost 4 million viewers (beating Adele and Ed Sheeran's previous record for viewers).

I appreciate she's not for everyone, but no headliner is. She is massive with LGBTQ+ audiences (and old fogeys like me). Her light is definitely not fading - and I may have been wrong about Fiddy too, looking at the venues he played in UK last time he toured the UK (20,000 seat arenas) but maybe he's just fallen off my radar since his second album.

I have Insider info on who will be announced and its quite a big name in his category…

Wonder if Sziget was even trying to get him as a headliner if the festival is just around the border with few days apart. That would surely make a bigger promo than everything what is happening right now..

    Clues please!

  4. Can anyone work out who is on the main stage on Wednesday?

It only seems to be Kylie and Tom Odell so far.

Am I missing someone, or do you think they're waiting to see how well Joost do at Eurovision before deciding where to put them?

  5. Unpopular opinion. I'm old and I love Kylie, she's a national treasure. Can't wait to see her at Sziget.

But, I would still have preferred The Killers, No Doubt, RHCP, Maneskin, even Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Because live music is all about music being played live, by musicians who laboured for months to write the perfect song and are now getting the chance to share it with thousands of people, who are in awe of the skill and ability on display that they don't possess themselves.

There are JUST enough acts announced across all stages to ensure I'll have a pretty decent Sziget. But it is absolutely the last time I buy tickets without seeing the line-up first.

@Sziget2024_Leaks Any news on today's announcement? Are we getting another headliner? Will it be a band? If not today do you have a dead when such announcement would occur?

I'm assuming a couple of names announced today with the main announcement being that the headliner will come tomorrow, alongside Electric Picnic and the other festival both announcing.

Seems a strange way to do it though, couldn't imagine a football team holding a press conference to announce they're announcing the the purchase of a new player the following day!

Electric Picnic announcing their (16-18 August Ireland) announcing line-up on Fri - wonder if it's a shared headliner who's yet to announce tour

So, if it's a band playing all three, the options are what? Someone with nothing currrently announced? Killers are out as played last year. Looking at demographics, I'd say Metallica etc out too. So:

    No Doubt

    RHCP

    Maroon 5

    Muse

    The 1975

I can't think of anyone else that could be in tbh. What other huge groups are there who have nothing else announced? The Wiggles?

  8. Am I missing it or have they still not officially announced God Is An Astronaut?

If not, do we assume they are one of the remaining A38 acts being announced tomorrow?

Does anyone know what time the press conference takes place tomorrow?

For those interested in some Band Action, I've been listening to Dead Poet Society that will be playing on the buzz stage. Quite a vibe

Thanks for the recommendation. My son's a massive Royal Blood fan so will almost certainly like DPS.

  10. It's very quiet in here. What is everyone thinking for the headliner announcement (assuming it is coming on Thursday?)

Not seeing any rumours of a No Doubt tour anywhere.

Are we actually going to get a band like Leaks 'promised'? Or is Kylie more likely?

Or maybe we'll be seein' Kings of Leon?

Or could Paramore be tempted away from Tay for a day?

    Place your bets......

Leaks wasn’t that reliable this year, so the ‘’band is the last headliner’’ clue might be outdated.

Quite possible they got way down the line with a band and they changed their mind at the last minute. Sounds like they've has a few incidents like that this year.

Keep an eye out this week, we're sure you won't want to miss the real groove of what's coming! 🔮

    #szigetfestival #SZIGET2024

Does that provide any clues? Real groove stands out as strange turn of phrase. It's also the title of a Kylie song.

Another band that would surely sell a lot of tickets very fast is Rammstein. They're doing an arena tour next summer and they have nothing scheduled after the 31st of July. I guess they can be convinced to play Sziget for the right price.

What makes them unlikely however is that they use lots of pyro and other stuff, so I guess it would be complicated to organize the gig.

Booking Rammstein to play Sziget with the current line-up would be like booking Ed Sheeran to play Hellfest.

Qdance one is quite good I think, my brother is really excited about it. With Joost on the first day and Goldband and Qdance on the second is an amazing start of the festival and on day three I don't really have anything I want to see, but I don't mind a day to relax . For the rest of the days I just hope editors does not overlap with Janelle and I will be a happy man.

Bit sad about jungle not coming, but I hope another act is able to surprise me.

My son and I had this exact discussion last night. In a year where our 'must see' acts are about half the number they normally are, having a clash (and that one specifically) would be very annoying.

  15. We seem to know which acts are playing Colloseum and Party Arena each day. We also have 4 acts on main stage and 5 on Revolut, prior to a DJ playing the small hours. That means 9 acts per day on the two main stages. I believe them to be:

Weds: Tom Odell, Marc Ribellet, L'Imperatice, Blondshell, Joost, Tkay Maidza (3 acts missing)

Thurs: Halsey, Aurora, Azahriah, Grandson, Meute, Joker Out, Goldband, Danny, Nova Twins (Full)

Fri: Liam, Stormzy, Yves Tumor, Teezo Touchdown, Apashe with orchestra, Liberator, Warhaus, Ari Abdul (1 missing)

Sat: Garrix, Tomlinson, Mo, Neil Frances, Zoe Wees, Mannequin Pussy (3 missing)

Sun: Janelle, Sam Smith, Fontaines, Becky Hill, Crystal Fighters, Editors, Kiasmos live, Joesef, Pip Blom (Full)

Mon: Fred, Raye, Big Thief, LANY, Yard Act, Wednesday, Skrillex, Four Tet, Overmono (Full)

So, with Wednesday's headliner and sub, along with some Hungarian names, unless I've miscounted, I don't think we are likely to get many more acts for tbe two main stages (maybe an extra one on the Saturday?)

Doesn't make for amazing reading, I've got to say.

"Forget all those promises that only fools remember." Those couple or names are not going to happen I'm afraid.

Obviously Jungle isn't happening, are you also referring to Charli XCX?

Do you have insider info? Do you know who we are getting?
