Hopefully we don't gey Taylor Swift, last date in the US the 5th of August, I don't see her coming to Europe after all these shows 🙂

That's 27 shows in four-and-a-half months. I wouldn't have said it was so strenuous that she would need a break afterwards - although appreciate additional dates will inevitably be added.

    We'll see.

  2. BlackPink just announced for London Hyde Park on 10 July. I couldn't name you one of their songs but they're clearly 'around' next summer and are a big name. Given the nature of their music I'd assume they weren't particularly likely, but they booked Bieber!

Okay, so my money's on a Taylor Swift announcement. She's teasing tour dates at a time when Sziget's also teasing and there aren't many bigger acts than her. She talked about doing a tour of festivals in 2019/2020 which was scuppered by Covid. Perhaps not everyone's preferred act but a huge draw.

Not sure I agree but would be happy to be wrong.

look at their tour.. they might need some rest in August, don't you think..?

No way they're gonna be here.

Having looked at their tour dates, it's made me think they are quite likely to be at Sziget!

Muse will announce tour updates next week + Paramore are hinting new era/comeback.

Are Paramore big enough to headline? I like them but have no idea of their popularity.

I'd rather spend the evening breaking my own fingers than have to endure the noise Muse makes.

  6. Anyone else bothered by the option in the Sziget survey asking about ways to improve the festival which is 'more electronic music'? I thought there was too much this year, never mind adding to it!*

    *Although would love Chemical Brothers!

I think Coldplay will headline big weekend next year and also Isle of Wight

Coldplay are far too big to headline the current iteration of Isle of Wight. Glastonbury only in UK nowadays. Maybe Hyde Park at a push.

  8. Sub-headliner turnout for HH is poor. And how many of them are for Arctic Monkeys? Feel sorry for Holly tbh, she seems nervous as hell. She's been put in a really poor position and she's already quite an awkward performer.

  9. Stromae seemed to have the crowd. I only know two of his songs and enjoyed them completely. Caught 'Run Boy Run' by Wood kid as his closing song. Freedome was packed and he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Not seen that kind of devotion in a long time. He seemed genuinely blown away by it. Wish we'd got there earlier.

Jungle's crowd was huge too. Literally no space in Freedome from the first song onwards. Great way to end the evening.

  10. Well, we gave Bieber a go and 40 minutes in we gave up and went elsewhere. Amazing turnout, obviously a very popular and profitable booking but, my goodness, he delivers nothing and looks off his tits on something. My 17-year-old daughter summed it up best with her "I've never seen someone so boring, and bored, in my life" comment.

That was so much better last night, you could get a drink, walk about and piss where there was space.

Nothing on I want to see today but the kids are buzzing for Justin.

We are a bit like you. We are coming in for Alfie Templeman at 5pm and then our next act is Jungle at midnight. A big gap to fill. Will probably take a look at Stromae as everyone says his stage show is impressive and might give slowthai a look but that stuff with Katherine Ryan a few years ago still doesn't sit well with me. Think we'll give the circus a go during Justin!

They had no one on in the tent so everyone was going to see her.

Bad planning and they seemed to have narrowed the main stage as well. Very busy but milky chance were brilliant, meet one off the twins watching dua lipa and both were good.

    Overall a good day.

Got to say that having nobody playing Freedome when she was on was borderline dangerous IMHO.

How is the sound from the VIP at Main Stage? Is the VIP-Stage at the back?

It's to the left of main stage as you look at it. It has two levels with the top level (five boxes) being the VIP section of the VIP section. Lol. All were private boxes. One of them was an YSL one, not sure who the rest belonged too. Corporate hospitality essentially.

Sound was okay. Nothing stood out as being an issue.

    How so?

I may be wrong. I really wanted to watch them but my kids dragged me to Nova Twins. However, I saw the first 20mins of RDS and the crowd seemed a bit disinterested. It may have just been where I was positioned.
