I agree lol.. Mumford is kinda country to me lol 😢 😢
Hey dude, are you still 100% positive for Lorde now ? 😜
Yes, because it is 😉

same here ..... 😞 fuck no, please no Mumford ........
I'm sure Leaks seemed to scoff at the idea that Imagine Dragons might be the rock headliner......and yet they're a damn sight more rock than Mumford and his banjo.

Delayed. 🦁
Tom Grennan is at Summer Well and he did a song with Joel Corry called 'Lionheart'.

So the crowns could also be Franz Ferdinand
Nah, it's definitely Lorde.

Bad idea - girl in red ???
As much as I'd like my guess of Royal Blood to be correct, this seems more likely.

If you've no lights that means the lights are out.
My guess: Royal Blood - Lights Out

What a lame R+L line up that is... this could be the first year when Sziget beats up their line up. At least, for me.
Btw a few days ago I was looking around tour dates and tried to come up with some kind of prediction of bands I know, we'll see how accurate I was. Or @Sziget2023_Leaks you could rate my predictions!
Lorde - 80%Girl in Red - 70%
Placebo - 50%
Wet Leg - 50%
Yeah Yeah Yeahs 50%
Blur - 40%
Limp Bizkit - 40%
Liam Gallagher - 40%(10%, announced Japan for 19th August)Dropkick Murphys 20%
Paramore - 10%
Green Day - less than 10%
I'd say Liam was possible above 10% as he is at Boardmasters on 12 August

So Sziget and R&L share all main names except The Killers (and Capaldi that was here last year). Why dont we consider them as favorites to take rock headliner spot?
Because Leaks said 'no' to them.
However, they also said no to Tame Impala for 2022 too

Sam Fender, Niall Horan and Yungblud as subs so far do we think?

Reckon it could be Lorde, she’s slowing starting to announce European summer festivals
She's just added a date in Portugal 16-19 August. With Boardmasters on 11 August, there's a lovely Sziget-shaped hole between Cornwall and Portugal.

Queens of the Stone Age? Haha
That's actually not a bad shout. Could have a double meaning, like Amsterdam did in the first hint.
Only thing is, doesn't Leaks only give song clues, not acts?

1 crown would have been enough for the "Royals" clue for Lorde..
I think @activeanis right : 2 crowns --> kings and queens --> Ava Max (plus, I know 100% that she hasn't gave us everything about her Euro trip this year, she'll be back this Summer)
So if I had to bet : 75% Ava Max, 25% Lorde ... and 80% both lol ^^
Two crowns = Royals
One crown = Royal
Plural, not singular.

Not sure Lana will be in Europe this year. She is touring less and less. This is probably Lorde.
Yeah, definitely Lorde. Great headline booking IMHO, even better if she's a sub. Hope we get a few more Leaks before announcement day.

Am I right in thinking that Boardmasters is owned/run by the same company in charge of Sziget or have I dreamt that?
-
Fall Out Boy's tour dates seem to line them up for a potential one-off visit to Europe. Their diary is empty between 6 August and 19 August and they're not playing Hungary during their visit to Europe in Oct/Nov.

I think Sziget needs a second capacity stage between Main and a38. A38 is my fav stage on Sziget, but sometimes is too small for some artist. Rufus du Sol at 19:30 was terrible, but they were to big to A38.
Why was it terrible?

From their Insta: New names on end of Feb. or early March
Well at least Feb is a short month!

I'm still holding out faint hope that we get Paramore. On top of that I'd really like to see Royal Blood and Bicep there.

Would love Green Day to be there. Think they'd be a great fit too.
Liam Gallagher seems to be playing a few festivals this summer too, wouldn't be too surprised to see him. Not sure if he's a headliner in Hungary or not though.
My ideal would be The Chemical Brothers as their show is amazing. Again, not sure if they're headliners anymore or not.

Coldplay will come up with new dates. For now their tour ends at 19 July 2023 in Amsterdam. Any chances for extending their Europe leg with some July or August European festivals like Sziget?
Have they announced any festival dates at all? Or are all their stadium dates their own?

I think The Strokes and Blur still have good chances to be this year at Sziget.
I'd be very surprised / disappointed if Blur weren't there. Massive missed opportunity.

thanks for this 😉 !
Being a rock-metal fan, I've been thinking a lot about this slot, and thought Red Hot Chili Peppers or Green Day would perfectly fit (EVERYONE know some songs of those 2 bands, even the non-rock fans).
Since then, I found out RHCP are doing June-July fests' , and Green Day is busy with new album, and MIGHT have pulled out from R&L...
So of course the UK bands would be "easier" to book : Placebo..? The Cure ..? Royal Blood ..? (I consider Blur as a Pop band) ; but if Sziget is also trying US bands, my money remains on Green Day, My Chemical Romance or Pearl Jam (considering Guns & Roses are out of reach, since they're in Europe in June already).
I really hope it isn't MCR. They might have a big fan base but most Sziget-goers were still in primary school when MCR last released an album.
A double-header of Biffy Clyro and Royal Blood would suit me down to the ground if some of the bigger names are unavailable or too expensive.
