Tells a lot about the state of this edition (and next year’s festival summer to be fair) when Editors gets a separate announcement in 2022. Did not like them at Hear Hear but at least it’s been a while, and they should be in the Barn (though one could see that as a waste of a spot...).

Nah lets just bring Royal Blood and Greta Van Fleet back. On a serious note though, I’m pretty sure they are out and are not a priority for Werchter anymore.

The fact we’re not getting any news on the Friday make me think we might get a big head ala Foo Fighters instead of a co-head structure... I’m sorry but the prospect of AM, Muse and FF, as big as they are, is a bit dire in my opinion.

Stromae / Blur Kendrick / Florence or Arcade Fire or Lana (all touring or rumoured) or ??? Muse / OATW Arctic Monkeys / QOTSA You can still save this, Rock Werchter. But I’m not that confident anymore.

If they’re going to repeat headliners, from the last few years, can they just bring back The Cure? New album in 2023, amazing show yesterday, guarantee of a good sale.

Yeah, they seem to rely more and more on local acts to fill up their undercard, and you end up with days like this year’s Friday and Saturday who were decent enough but with nothing particularly interesting before 9pm. I’m yet to see a better festival day than that Thursday though.

Not particularly fussed about this but if that’s like last year, we should expect at least 2 more headliner-sized acts. And some decent international acts.

Sigur Ros Barn headliner please. What a gig yesterday. Even Vorst could’nt ruin that moment.

Huge blow for Glasto and EU as I was hoping to see her in 2023. I’m landing in Vegas on March 21st for a 3-week trip though... Tickets from $49 to $449 according to Variety (not taking the astronomical fees into account I guess).

Decent name, but AM / QOTSA is such an uninspired combo. Still no names for the Friday and Taylor Swift is yet to announce her tour... I’m confident!

Thursday is the hardest day to sell out and as big as Stromae is in Belgium, he’ll need a strong sub/undercard to do so. Muse... No surprise here, let’s hope for a solid tent headliner that day. Opener Festival has just started to follow Taylor Swift on IG. She was due to play there in 2020 after Boutique...

Yeah you could swap Blur and AM. Though the press release today did not mention AM closing the festival, so who knows. As for Kendrick, I have no idea how likely it is tbf, but that combo would have interested me a lot on paper. And RW put out some unlikely combinations in the past. Stromae / Kendrick Lamar / Rosalia (Barn: Foals / Klub C Four Tet) Tay or Dua / Florence / Olivia Rodrigo (Barn: Tamino and dEUS / Klub C Mura Masa) Muse / QOTSA / Paramore (Barn The 1975 / Klub C Fred Again) Arctic Monkeys / Blur / Editors (Barn Sigur Ros / Klub C Little Simz) A mix of safe RW choices and a few interesting picks. Lets see in a few months how much I got.
