  1. Saturday ticket in the pocket! The festival as a whole is not for me anymore (too much repetition of acts, not a fan of the headliners and I feel like the most interesting acts of the summer will end up elsewhere), but that Saturday is promising.
  2. Day splits 22/08 : Maneskin, The Hives 23/08 : Fred Again, Jungle, Olivia Dean, Soulwax 24/08 : Massive Attack, The Offspring, Blonde Redhead, Inhaler, The Kills 25/08 (!) : LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, The Smile, Roisin Murphy, Zaho de Sagazan
  3. Rock en Seine DELIVERING again. Oh this is good.
  4. Yeah I get that, but the idea of having to pay more for a front stage access at a festival annoys me a lot. And I don't think this weekend is worth 335 EUR (yet?)...
  5. I was tempted to go but prices are absolutely outrageous and that VIP front stage is a shame. Massive Attack or LCD Soundsystem headlining on Saturday in my opinion. Massive Attack looks more likely to accept a Barn spot at Werchter so I'm saying LCD.
  6. LCD Soundsystem now playing Down the Rabbit Hole on Friday 5. Beauregard on Saturday 6 Looks more and more unlikely unless they're subbing Pearl Jam on Thursday. Still don't see them playing the Barn. But in any case they would need to play 3 days in a row. They're playing Live is Live in my opinion.
  7. I’m expecting at least one more headliner to be fair. Could see Jungle and Massive Attack being more in a co-head structure ala Pavement/Phoenix 2023 or J Balvin/Pet Shop Boys 2022. And Pavement and Phoenix were added in a second announcement. But with two main stages and a late schedule what’s a headliner in Bilbao anyway? 😄 As long as we get a few more big acts I’m happy.
  8. Oof, that Friday is rough. dEUS headlining the Barn I guess? Avril Lavigne on the Dua Lipa day is excellent news.
  9. ARCADE FIRE! Unexpected. Fantastic news and that's a strong first announcement. Tempted to go...
  10. All Points East with an announcement tomorrow and LCD was a strong rumour there. BKS also with an announcement tomorrow and they would fit. Maybe it wasn’t a stretch after all…
  11. I know it’s a stretch, I know it’s wishful thinking and I know it’s unlikely given they played in 2022 but… Please.
  12. https://www.liveislive.be/artists Alvvays, Tamino, Ben Howard, Interpol, Mogwai, K’s Choice all ruled out. Still no names for that Saturday. I’m afraid LCD could end up there…
  13. So Lana is touring in 2024. The only spot I could see for her is after Maneskin on Friday. Or potential Boutique headliner? Or skipping Belgium again.
  14. Air at De Roma (capacity of 1500) sold out in a minute. Lots of people on the waiting list. Barn sub / headliner candidate?
  15. Yeah the field will be packed for both, I have literally zero doubts about that. I mean look at that Maneskin crowd at 4 pm in 2022.
  16. Blur are not that unlikely, are they? No dates yet but Beauregard Festival organisers said that the band would be on the road in 2024 and they were already trying to get them back after their late cancellation this year. https://www.francebleu.fr/infos/culture-loisirs/festival-beauregard-record-battu-en-2023-blur-espere-en-2024-9957711 Beauregard is the same weekend as Werchter. They got two headliners announced. Bring me the Horizon on Thursday and LCD Soundsystem on Saturday. Werchter gets Blur on the Friday in a combo with Maneskin. Beauregard gets them on Sunday to close their festival. And we are all happy. Also they played Lokerse last year and if they were to play again in Belgium this summer I don’t see them playing Live is Live.
  17. Oh my god they’re back in the EU! If they want a headline position I could see them as the third Live is Live headliner sadly.
  18. Dua Lipa! Fantastic booking. A strong undercard and that’s my day ticket sorted.
  19. Short update on Live is Live as there’s no separate thread. Standard day tickets are 90 EUR, seating is 120 and frontstage is 130 EUR (!!!). Combi are 225. Combi seat 315. Combi frontstage 345. What the hell.
  20. Live /s Live • An Antwerp city music festival (liveislive.be) The National and The Smashing Pumpkins confirmed!
  21. I preferred the Live is Live crowd to Ziggo! Setting was also excellent. The National with the sunset on the beach and slowly turning into the dark. Can hardly make it better. Ziggo was a great gig but I was a bit in a dead spot tbf.
  22. Yeah it's a new festival (as if we did not have enough in Belgium). 2022 was the first edition on the beach in Zeebrugge. 3 days, one stage, 5-6 acts a day. No camping. I was there for the National day with Wilco and dEUS on the undercard. Food lineup is curated by the Best Kept Secret festival team. I paid 69 EUR that day for general admission but there were seating tickets in a stand behind the pit at 89 EUR and "front stage tickets" at 99 EUR, which is the biggest downside of this festival in my opinion. VIP areas in a festival is a no for me. I wasn't there this year but they moved to the Middenvijverpark in Antwerp and it was only 2 days IIRC. They also added an acoustic stage with a few acts. No camping either. Might be useful to get an idea of the location :
  23. The Smashing Pumpkins might be playing Live Is Live. https://www.liveislive.be/artists/the-smashing-pumpkins Like The National it gets you to a protected page. If you try with other bands page is not found. (thanks to festileaks for this)
  24. A bit strange this. The National playing Live is Live twice in 3 years while it was the perfect opportunity to finally see them back in Werchter. I’ll probably go but did not like that VIP area pit in 2022.
  25. Arcade Fire’s set is live on Youtube!
