  1. Do you think any chance of Metallica doing this? Maybe even doing the 2 different sets show?
  2. That would be a bit of a damp squid. It's what I hate about social media, it often involves hyping abvolutely everything no matter how dull or insignificant.
  3. Now Tier 1 tickets are sold out and tickets are off sale. Do you think we are due a line-up release soon with tickets going back on sale at a higher price? I should know by now as have been the last few years but cant remember what happened with regards to lineup release times/paterns.

Ended up with O2 Priority tickets up in the gods as I just could not justify paying more for some one who is likely to only play a shortish set that will be drowned out by screaming. However, her ticket prices are just going to keep going up and up and so it seems like a good time to see her before its truly silly money. Should be good but still feels wrong to pay so much for some one I have only recently started to like. I usually go through the tiers of venue size liking someone and it gradually gets more and more expensive over the years.
  5. Yeah, just noticed they become available but to far for me. Decent looking line-up, so hope you have a good time.
  6. Could it be that the codes no longer work as all the 100 pairs of tickets have been claimed? They may have issued more codes than tickets and its first come first served. Maybe after they reach 100 any outstanding codes are invalid?
  7. Thanks for pointing that out as I missed it. Hopefully, not to much of a problem for me as I live in East London and so worth a punt but at least I now know to go down early tohave any chance of getting in.
  8. This post is not about APE but I know plenty on here played the Ladbrok games to win APE tickets. Well Ladbroke Live currently giving away pairs of Courteeners tickets for Earth. First 100 entries get tickets.
  9. For those who play the Ladbrokes ticket give away games. Tickets for Courteeners at Earth available. First 100 win tickets and I just got a pair. It has a counter of how many have gone currently at 48. So you should be in with a chance if quick.
  10. I forgot to mention talking and drinking is still the main reason people go to APE. At least in the tent with Confidencer Man it was to loud to hear anything anyone had to say. Still dont get why so many people spend so much money to go to a festival when they clearly dont like music? Save some money and go weatherspoons and get cheaper drinks.
  11. Went to Haim yesterday. It seemed practically empty cmpared to other APE events I have been at. Although, empty is a throw away term there were still thousands of people in attendance. To put it in perspective we walked to the VIP barrier for Griff without ever having to break stride, or step aside as the crowd was that thin. The sales must have been shocking. Haim were good but as usual their choreographed chat/banter was annoying. I thought by now they would be able to make it seem off the cuff or if not drop it. Although, most of the crowd lapped it up. Surprise for me was Confidence Man, I went along out of curisity rather then knowing their stuff. I did wonder if that would be a mistake as I was enjoing Girl in Red. They were Ohhhhhhhh so cheesey, shockly cheesey with extra cheese on top and with a side order of cheese. However, they were so much fun. I did not know whether to dance or piss myself laughing. They might be my new guilty pleasure. I have tickets for New Order at the 02 later this year and they are the support. I can't wait to see what the real nerdy New Order fans who only like the 12" B'side versions of tracks and only really like Joy Divsion make of them 😊
  12. I live fairly near and seen hardly anyone pass my place. Normally, you hear loads of people going by. The area is very quiet. Can hardly hear any noise coming from the park, very weird. I am going later, so will be interesting to see the size of the crowd to previous years events I have attended.
  13. Thanks. We booked the same accomadation when we got back to the hotel on Sunday night with cancellation, so we have scope to look for alternatives. I am just finding it harder and harder to justify the costs especially on that weekend. I live within walking distance of APE and work for the NHS and so could have got free tickets for most days and entered NHS draws for others. So, it's starting to look like madness to be spending a lot that weekend when I could stay at home with no travel costs and good chance of freebie tickets. The problem being that APE's lineups seem to get worse year on year (Well for me tastes). The only one I was gutted to miss was The Strokes and they seemed to have been panned by reviews but that had some great support acts. Off to APE later for Haim with free NHS tickets. Think, I am suffering Festival Fatigue and done to many this summer and so need to plan next year better for time breaks between weekends aways and total costs.
  14. An enjoyable weekend and the highlights for me were The View, The Enemy, Amyl, Charlatans, Vaccines and Crawlers. In general I was not blown away by anyone and most of the acts I watched, I have seen multiple times before. I was dissapointed by the clashes and odd placement of acts. The crowd for Amyl was relatively small. They smashed it and am a huge fan but putting them up against Kaisers was a waste when they should have gone with a popular well known act. Missing Kaisers was annoying especially as theywould have made agood Castle option against JK. I did not talk to many people but the few I did all moaned about the JK & Tong clash. Ttat one was not an issue for me as I would pick watchiing paint dry over going to see JK. However, I would have loved if they had put Marr, , kaisers, Alt-J or any of the indie options up against JK and offer a real alternative. The crowd for Marr was tiny but I guess that was always going to be a poison chalice against Mumford. Just wish they had given him a better slot. Watched about 35 mins of Mumford and shipped out for Marr. I am not a huge fan of doing half and half and always feel a bit like you made the wrong decision, so usually plump for one and be damned. Although, this time I enjoyed both bits. We have booked tickets for next year and held a hotel room but am shocked by the price increase. Up by over £200 to well over £700 for 4 nights. We will keep checking to see if we can get a better deal. I think it might need to be real stonker of a headliner line-up for us to go again if the accomadation cost's are going to be so high. So, will watch out with great interest for the headliners as they will be the key to whether we go back and swallow the cost. I will not be influenced about whether to go next year by the undercard as chances are most of the ones I like I will not get to see. On paper this years under card was very strong for me but the reality was there was to many times the acts I liked clashed and other times when there was no one I cared for. We have a few other festivals booked for next year including Truck and would expect some cross over on the undercard, so its all about those headliners. At the moment I really have no clue as to who Victoriousoor the other Superstruct festivals will have, so looking forwardto the 2024 debates. I do like Victorious but it might be getting a little expensive when you factor in hotel, petrol etc and for those camping the shuttle bus charges.
  15. Yeah a bummer as it was an early start. If I knew in the morning, I would have planned to arrive for Blossoms. Will get to see them one day.
  16. The rain this year is getting to be a real downer. It’s pissed it down at least one day every weekend I have been away for festivals and outdoor gigs. I was hoping this week end would buck the trend and I would finish my festival excursions with some sun. The odd wet one is fine but it’s been weekend after weekend it’s now becoming hard work. Oh well can’t be helped, onwards and upwards as they say. So role on The Mary Wallopers, they pulled out of Truck and I could not be arsed to move stage last weekend at Beautiful Days as it was raining and I was struggling to get excited by anything, so hoping to catch them tomorrow although I think they only have 30 minutes.
  17. It's a big park and not all of it is used for the concert. I have seen people sitting around listening to the music. However, I think you may need to enter via some of the other park gates and not the main one used for entering the concert. Hopefully, someone else will know the best gates to use.
  18. I love a chair at a festival and find them hard work without access to one. However, even I thought they were to many in the main arena. They seemed to be everywhere creating lots of dead ends. I did assume as they were allowed there would have been dedicated areas where they were allowed but I guess setting rules/regulations is not very Leveller like.
  19. I think John Robb threw around the figure 20,000 a few times when introducing acts but that could just be an estimate/rounding and sound's better and easier then saying 17,500. It was my first year but certinly seemed busy enough especially the main arena.
  20. Is it save to assume they are still doing the promotional mini can give aways?
  21. I see Dead Pony are gone from the App. They were on the Castle one of the days very early, I think they were supposed to be first on. Saw them at Truck & YNot and liked them enough to buy tickets for their tour later in the year. I guess the only positive it saves me an earlier start.
  22. The post office still had the tickets ❤️ Can now look forward to the weekend. Thanks for all the advice.
  23. Thanks, its always nice to hear there is a solution as it cuts down some of the stress.
  24. Has anyone had much experience of sorting out potential missing tickets. Gigantic just got back to my partner to confirm the post office tried to deliver our tickets a few weeks ago and that a card was left and its up to us to sort out. We never received a card and its been more then 2 weeks, so presumedly the post office have returned to sender. We cant get through to the sorting office by phone and its currently closed. So partner is going to go this afternoon when it re-opens. Hoping they have been lax and still have the tickets. However, expecting them to say they returned them to sender. So wondering if any one has had this sort of experience and been told they can collect replacements from the box office. There T&Cs seem rather strict on lost and stolen tickets but we have never actually had them. Expecting a stressful day tommorow if the post offfice no longer have them as we are suppossed to head off on Thursday. For anyone still waiting for tickets it might be worth checking your local sorting office. I always moan about electronic tickets as I still rather like paper as a souvenir but they are a lot less stressful when things go wrong.
