  1. Find it depressing just walking through there. Featureless landscape of no identity tents, with even shitter names (Wow!).

Even if the audience is younger, and on more ket or whatever, I’m confused why Glasto seems to have abandoned the aesthetic principles that permeate the rest of the site/venues.

  2. How did you all do? I had a few cheeky ones most days... But didn’t buy any, didn’t do any daytime smoking, and haven’t had one - or a craving - since being back. A 5 day hangover is a pretty good suppressant though...

  3. Not much too add, but it did feel very very busy, everywhere, ALL the time. Sometimes scarily so.

Particular jams were Friday night between Arcadia and Park - this was horrid. Railway after Chems also wasn’t nice.

It was mental before the Streets in JP field, with snaking queues for bogs. So much so that there were about 50 guys pissing against the hedge that backs onto the pond in the wood. Ugh.

But it was the busyness of Weds and Thurs night that most surprised me. Normally get a chance to see venues and smaller acts in relative comfort...

The SE corner seemed generally less busy, but it also felt bigger, and far less interesting along with it... Guess that’s the price we pay for its popularity.

One man found dead bad and sad

    Crime down great

Nice people... The security were fab as we're all the stewards so I think they have really done a good job..

Re: dead man. Do you mean the security guard on the last day? In which case I think - sadly - two people died. A T&C crew member passed away on Thursday, too.

Stewards were ace, but I thought the security were heavy handed. Especially  searching people *leaving* the site from Gate C after a night out. They’d line the exit with guards and make a long corridor of search trays. Whether anyone had done anything or not, or had anything or not on them or not, this was an excellent way to ruin the buzz of a good night out.

Just glad I decided to get my mates to see this over the cure. It was mega busy but we got there before Friendly Fires so not too bad. It’s people who turn up just as they’re starting and basically try and push everyone over to get through that make it bad.

Yeah. We were just outside the tent lip with some decent space around us, but as soon as it started the tent was rushed by hundreds of gurning kids. People selling nos to them inside was also fucking annoying. Epic gig tho!

I've been thinking that due to the symbol they use on the Glastonbury map.... It looks like an orbit. However I don't think there is any way a spinning loaded crane would be allowed to operate with a crowd directly under the jib

On some imagery I’ve seen the ‘orbit’ is called the ‘aerial performance zone’ so...

  7. Yeah both those sound quite annoying! I did wonder about following the fence though, but figured I’d get hassled.

And yes getting picked up and driven in! I think it’s a bus that’s picking me up at Red Gate and taking me in... They’ve been sorting it for a week or so and this is the best they’ve conjured up so I guess Blue is out the question. Don’t want to cause more trouble so may just leave it

  8. Loved the Leveller’s footage, I watch that regularly on You Tube, so pleasantly surprised to see it there. Other stand outs were Blur, JayZ, Chems, and Flo stepping in/up. Wish I’d gone to Adele now too, instead of whatever it was I was doing instead.

Low points were Kanye (wtf was that?) and the doldrums of Ed in 2017.

Killers might have been ok a decade ago, but looking a bit uninspired for next week...

Seems odd to me that you're surprised,  given you clearly know how precious they are.

As you'll see in this thread, where people suggest claiming they didn't arrive - if that was an easy process each year that would clearly be an invitation for others to attempt fraud.

But they’re signed for so that’s evidence if they did arrive (or not). What I’m surprised about is that *under no circumstances* are they ever replaced. As in, imagine I’m walking to Glasto, I get mugged or in a traffic collision and my ticket lost in the process. I have a crime number etc, but still no leniency.

  10. Just read this thread about lost ticket. Now racing home to check on mine! And good luck to the OP’s friend, hope his mum is pulling his leg.
