  1. They wouldn't be the same size as the acts we've lost, but what about the likes of Jon Hopkins or Hot Chip to parachute in as replacement acts? Frank Ocean was replaced by Jamie xx, so certainly a downgrade in terms of size, and the two above are real festival favourites, turning up everywhere.
  2. That's about half my planned gigs on Thursday clashing if its true...
  3. I remember the 2017/18 (I forget which year is which...) version, getting the push notes for the surprise gigs. Arcade Fire, Mogwai and Haim I think? Great fun and excitement at first, followed by people glued to their phones wondering what else was coming 😅 I've made my peace with this line up being our final line up (hopefully without any major last minute drop outs) so any extras from here are absolute bonus (but if they're coming, please wedge them all into the Thursday of weekend one. My Friday and Saturday is so full 🤣
  4. A band I love but I can see myself skipping them for this reason. Plus, they're on a day when I'm anticipating quite a few clashes too. Looking forward to some new info this week. Hopefully Hidden Stage etc. Neerly there now.
  5. Also, I'm so jealous that the Smile are just weekend 2. I think there's more I'm into on weekend 1, but there is a few biggies on 2 that I'm sad to miss. Phoenix and the Smile the top two.
  6. Re the stage distances - the biggest distance would be the main arena down to the beach (I remember this being 10-15 minutes), but the main thing to consider is the crowd movements. If you're leaving the main arena to get to Ray ban at the same time as everyone else, it can take quite a bit longer to get through the crowd so it can often be worth leaving a main stage act just before they finish if you're really keen to see something else.
  7. Last time I went, there was a Heineken cider - Orchard Thieves, I think? Was that 2018? It seems so long ago now! The non beer drinkers in my group were certainly happier to have that than aperol or wine all day!
  8. I hope they're bringing back brunch on the beach for those of us on weekend 1! Was looking forward to that.
  9. After two years of waiting, this has crept up quite quickly now. 😁
  10. I really liked her last Primavera show, though I'd much rather see her indoors than on a big stage admittedly. Not wild on current album but would definitely put her on my watch list if she was added, especially on the Thursday. I'm setting my hopes lower, purely to avoid any late disappointment. Seeing Phoenix and the Smile added just to weekend 2 sucked when I can only make weekend 1, so I'm just trying to convince myself that I'm 100% happy with what we currently have (just wait for me to leap on a bandwagon as soon as anyone new is added!!)
  11. Id love a few more tips like this if anyone has any going. I'm arriving quite early in the week so I may actually have time to check out some decent food options instead of my usual three day diet of beer and festival food!
  12. There's nothing quite like reading these lists to make you realise how broad a spectrum this festival covers. Here's me thinking my Thursday is gonna be quiet and some of ye are gonna have you're busiest day then. And that's even before they add the Beatles to replace Massive Attack.
  13. Are we back to the stage of the (lack of) news cycle where we all say what our most anticipated acts are each day? 😅 Just weekend one for me so... Day 1 - Sharon van Etten, Tame Impala, Pavement (it's a light day for me) Day 2 - Caribou, Little Simz, The Strokes (loads more here that I like but have seen plenty of them before) Day 3 - Beach House, Gorillaz, maybe Nick Cave or King Krule (lots of good stuff here too) Anyone have any new discoveries (particularly day one) they want to share? More rock and indie stuff for me, etc, but open to whatever really.
  14. I'm working under the assumption there won't be a Massive Attack replacement. I don't have any insight, I'm just a pessimist 😅 But if I'm right (let's hope not), who do we think will play the main slots on Thursday of weekend 1? Pavement, Tame Impala, Charlie XCX? I know it comes down to personal taste but that just seems a little lighter than the other days to me - compared to the Friday (Beck, National, Strokes, maybe Caribou and Jamie xx) and Saturday (gorillaz, jorja Smith, Tyler and nick Cave) I'm not too put out or anything, it's still a good mix across the board. Thursday was already the day with the least 'must see' acts for me (so any tips would be appreciated! It's just pavement, Sharon van etten and Tame Impala now) so my main concern is clashes the other two days. The joys of festivals - when the worst stress is what band you want to see! God I've missed it.
