  1. TA at the Hope and Ruin is going to be huge! Similarly with Florist, the Hope and Ruin is going to be a second home for me next year On that note, Florist announced a UK tour this week. Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham in January (5/6/7th) and Bristol, Brighton and London in March (16/17/18th). their new album is just lovely. a very pleasant listen
  2. he’s been a producer for a fair few years now, working with Headie One on an EP and co-wrote and produced a lot of Ed Sheeran songs on his Collabs Project so he has a lot of industry cred. and basically during the lockdowns, he became (at least in my mind) a big figure for those wanting to go out and party with friends (like The Streets’ get-out-and-rave MO meets Marc Rebillet’s live streams). I saw his show at the Roundhouse and had an absolute time but his momentum is growing at a rate I didn’t quite see tbh. those first two Actual Life records were rinsed on my spotify edit: oh and I guess a big thing about him is use of social media. he does a lot of fan polling to see what songs they like/prefer so that his next release is tailor-made for his fans. also quite interesting seeing frequent updates to the songs he makes. constantly thrifting it seems
  3. in minor non-FA.. news, I got a ticket for the Later with Jools 30th show next month. some tickets are quite pricey so I wouldn’t be surprised if they have acquired a strong bill. could be a great evening out at Hammersmith
  4. 42,000 in front of me atm. you know what, i’m fancying my chances with this one
  5. straight through on O2 Priority for the friday. stalls secured
  6. i do wonder if he’ll do a second date. on his other tours, they have all sold out instantly with dates readily available for added shows (from what I remember) and only done the one. I wonder if it’s a thing about doing one-off shows in increasingly larger venues. regardless, will be a frenzy!!
  7. Tbh very relieved about not having to stress about tickets to something like the Roundhouse
  8. as in the Courteeners gig, or just in general?
  9. presale live here (https://www.seetickets.com/artist/alvvays/901639). if that doesn’t work, click on this link (https://www.crashrecords.co.uk/products/alvvays-blue-rev-pre-order-presale-ticket-access-leeds), scroll to No Purchase then All Performances and should work! seen them a couple times and have nothing but love and praise for them. very excited for Islington!
  10. Wild Pink have announced a UK tour for November. their most recent album is one of my favourite records of the 2020s so far and the new track today is an absolute tune. very excited for this one
  11. Ah quite miffed about that. Caught the last song of their set at the G this year and the reaction they got was massive. Not the end of the world though! Willow Kayne on that bill is quite exciting; she put out a new song last week that goes quite hard (and a great video to go with it)
  12. Megan Thee Stallion at Brixton Academy, August 24th. unsure of any other UK shows but tickets on sale Friday
  13. Yeah I was hoping the same would be for Bruce as PJ did last week. iirc The Cure did the same when they were last at Hyde Park - or they just made the entire field GA. not like it is impossible for artists to campaign to do away with the golden circle
  14. for those interested, the Taylor Hawkins tribute gig has seating between £71.50 and £132, with Club Wembley, Bobby Moore and Royal Box seats at £154. Then £93.50 for standing tickets
  15. Aha you know what, looks like you might be on to something!! Think I misread some tweets many moons ago. I remember Sports Team released a shirt that Matty endorsed/posted on his socials that was related to their "beef". Maybe the secret set will be them all holding hands and doing karaoke for an hour and yeah that's a good point. I was thinking more because it would be their first appearance after going quiet for over a year would just mean they'd be very conscious with how they go about it
  16. If it counts for anything (it doesn’t), The 1975 are good friends with Sports Team - the two lead singers have collaborated on things previously. Obviously Frank Carter was hardly mates with The Killers sooo yeah. also the fan bases are similar-ish that maybe crowd control wouldn’t be a nightmare. The one thing that feels off to me is why The 1975 would do a secret set two weeks before they are meant to come back. They’re a very “aesthetic”-oriented group; they definitely wouldn’t play their first new song in years, ten days before it’s meant to release. Even The Killers were promoting their new stuff. So it would be a friendly “remember us?” set.
  17. Thurs: Piri and Tommy Fri: Crowded House Sat: WH Lung Sun: Kendrick* *the run of Clairo, Kacey Musgraves, Lorde and Kendrick is my general weekend highlight but the mandatory Mik trip on Thursday will naturally be wonderful
  18. exactly my thinking! already had to make peace with the fact I’d be missing Turnstile for Kacey Musgraves (seen Turnstile twice already this year and they were fantastic) so selfishly hoping it’s something I can skip!
  19. One act that could (quite feasibly) be one of the surprises is Two Door Cinema Club. while not that interesting to me, they could easily fill the JP/Park slot. a band that can still headline smaller festivals and could get a sizeable crowd. this week they have been teasing their return and it looks like an album is on its way. they are free all weekend as well I’d be happy to miss it but I could definitely see it happen
  20. just got a text from DICE saying the Smino gig at Kentish Town Forum in March 2020 has been cancelled. a gig that I truly had forgotten all about strangely only a couple minutes later, he seems to be headlining this year’s Soulection lineup
  21. Anderson .Paak playing House of Vans on Monday 27th June, for anyone with instant Worthy withdrawals
  22. on the topic of spenny tickets, the Paolo Nutini ticket for Ally Pally came to around £57. but as his first UK tour in eight years (I think), I’ll take the hit It does now mean I have tickets for three London shows on the same day (JapBreak, Bon Iver, Paolo). plenty of choice for giggoers that day
  23. Teyana Taylor is doing her "Farewell" tour. One night locked in for Brixton Academy on Sept 4th. Tickets on sale Friday
  24. there’s some cheapies for this one on Central Tickets btw M Huncho and Flohio are putting on a free gig in London on 26th May for… you guessed it, Magnum Large Size Condoms
