  1. Welcome to the party. Keep An eye out for the volunteers meet
  2. As someone with limited understanding of these maps…. is it now looking like a wet festival?
  3. Fantastic news everyone. The theme on the thread was keep the faith and it’s holding true!
  4. Not all wet years follow the same pattern. It’s possible to have a perfect run in and a wet muddy festival.
  5. It’s all guesswork. It’s limited places now. At these point, only the truly dedicated get places. Those who are ready 9-5 within a minute of the place becoming available. But the places that came up a week ago went live at 06:50 so who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️
  6. Haha, he had the location for sure. It’s a podcasting mic. I have a business podcast hence the setup. Watch this space for a new festival podcast that will be landing shortly….
  7. Lovely to meet you @clarkete and @gazzared
  8. @JayBalls got those last year
  9. Is this the official VM?
  10. Mate that’s poor and needs feeding back to them. On the basis of that I would rule out volunteering at BT. No excuse not rotating at least one of those 4-12 shifts into the arena as a minimum.
  11. There isn’t multiple days of briefings, it’s a small process to get a small number of volunteers up and running and then you’re off to work the next day. Recommend messaging the office asap and pleading your case as it could end up a deal breaker
  12. He’s Clem Fandango
  13. I’m with you on this. At Leeds, twice I started a shift at 8 when the gate opened at 11 😂
  14. My advice is expect the worst pattern you see on the table. Then anything else is a win. Plus not all shift patterns are the same. I had amazing shifts one year that didn’t follow the patterns: Wednesday 2-10pm Thursday 2-10pm Saturday 6am-2pm Totally random and unexpected but very welcome.
  15. My nephew did that too in 2019 when two people jumped the Oxfield camp thinking they got into the festival 😂. That’s him in the picture in the unicorn bucket hat
  16. Response Stewards. Response Stewards are heroes. If part of the site gets busier than expected, they come and add to your numbers. I’ve done response and often the first hour you are sat in the marquee waiting to be assigned somewhere. It’s a good gig
  17. Love the report, these videos are such a wholesome part of the internet
  18. Unfortunately it’s a case of no email = no earlies. You’ll hear about people getting them from here or the FB group. The chance is small but someone’s got to get them
  19. An alternative if you get the place is to register on the Monday evening, get briefed, leave site, work your regular job on Tuesday and return late Tuesday/early on Wednesday in time for the first shift. It would be a faff as you’d be in with general public parking when you return. But, if Tuesday arrival is the issue, Monday afternoon/evening arrival could be the solution
  20. It’s not a zero sum game
  21. Its strict, you’ll have to be there on Tuesday. The Oxfam wristbanding stops on Tuesday and the last mandatory briefing is Tuesday evening. It’s not the type of thing where if you get a place they will compromise. They know the place will get filled by a replacement.
  22. I honestly think GM should snap up Royal Blood for a headline set in Far Out or sub on Mountain.
  23. Fair enough, I get that, finding the annual leave and two free weekends isn’t easy, especially when you have to be on site a day early.
