So after noticing that Lost Village had recently followed Bombay Bicycle Club (one of my favourite bands) i decided to google 'Lost Village Bombay Bicycle Club' and then came to this page https://lostvillagefestival.com/line_up/headliner/ . On there, under the title 'Headliner Archives', are the names Bonobo and Bombay Bicycle Club.

You can then click on their names and then at the bottom it allows you to navigate through a list of bands - Bonobo, Bombay, Sink Ya Teeth etc.

Pretty big coup for our group landing Bombay if this is true!

Great find! I've just clicked through what I think is the whole line up, live acts seem a bit more "indie" on the whole than some previous yars, maybe that's just my impression though

Surprised to see Funeral for a Friend there, didn't realise they were still a thing.

Wow, they played some shows towards the end of last year - as a fundraiser for the family of one of their best friends. I got the impression that was that, but looks like they're back

Given they sell out the 20k O2 several times over every tour I'm surprised they haven't gone bigger.

Perhaps because they're also playing at the O2 twice next month - I don't imagine they could shift 100k+ tickets in London in a 6 month period

Thanks. He said on Twitter it'll be on streaming services if I wait it out (I think that's what he meant anyway). Try not to pirate stuff anymore so I might just pay for it next payday, its looking like it might be my last payday for a while though so maybe not

Ah cool, looks like it'll be online at some point then! Makes sense I suppose, because even people with a physical copy will want it on their phones etc

Does anyone have an inkling of when JME's latest album will be up on streaming services? Has anyone bought it?

I’ve bought it but my record player’s broken anyway so still haven’t heard it. I got the impression from what he was saying on gasworks that it’s only up for streaming in countries that the physical doesn’t ship to. He did mention bootlegs, so pirating might be your best bet for digital

  7. Got a couple for Friday night with Mike Skinner, Mary Anne Hobbs, Gaika, Greentea Peng.

Just in case - if anybody has bagged 2 tickets for Robert Glasper, Jordan Rakei & Sudan Archives (Saturday daytime) and eventually can't make it, I'm definitely interested!

Mint / Freeman's bars. Think they were paid staff rather than volunteers, not that it excuses it.

Think I volunteered with Mint for bestival some years back. We were allowed to see the festival when we weren't working, but they were pretty awful organisers - also do not recommend.

    Keep despairing then.

I’m against a female only line up on that or any day, yes.

I’d be against a male only line up on that or any day, equally.

What possible reason is there to ever segregate by gender when gender has nothing to do with ability?

No one tell him about the Bombay Bicycle Club, Squid and Warmduscher gig on that same day

Aside from the tired "poor taste lyrics to stir up controversy and get headlines" that he trots out, this just looks like a shit line. Like it's half-rhyme at best. I'm not advocating it, but surely there's a better way to force a terrorist attack reference if he really wanted one so badly

Was worried the best had already been released on Bombays album, but there is definitely a few extra gems on there - opening track for one!

Agreed. “Good Day” is a bit of a honker but otherwise, pleasantly surprised

  12. I would've thought Chemical Brothers would headline outright, but this is looking very likely now. I'll be dead chuffed if they turn up in whatever slot.

Gotta be Snow Patrol / Chems one night at Latitude, been expecting it a while.

Both are very likely candidates to be there which would be good, I noticed their email said

' Trust us, our 15th edition of Latitude is shaping up to be a big one.'

So could they be aiming to go bigger scale after the success of ticket sales this year?

They did step it up for the 10th, had some quite big headliners (compared to the year before) and late night secret sets from Thom yorke and Ed sheeran.

Not expecting all of that again, but yeah would hope for some decent names at the top

Haha, seeing The Chemical Brothers in Cardiff tonight, but would be VERY much up for seeing them in Latitude too! I have a STRONG feeling however that a certain Bombay Bicycle Club may be on the line-up :o

As much as I'd enjoy it, Bombay Bicycle Club are a hard one to place for me, because they've already subbed it and headlined the second stage - and I don't quite think they're big enough to headline.

I suppose there's no rule to say they won't play in the same slot they've had before, I just wonder if they would.

  15. They've had a female headliner each of the last two years, I think this is probably something they'll try to continue doing where possible.

    My current reckon is

FRI: Wolf Alice (if a new album is on the way)

SAT: Kings of Leon - if the Saturday trend of '00s Radio 2 guitar bands continues

    SUN: Vampire Weekend

Was it Emily who also revealed that 2 of the headliners had been booked? Presuming that this Macca tweet is the real deal then he must have been one of the booked headliners, and everyone else seems to think Taylor is agreed too? Or is she still in negotiations?

My taking was that the two that had been booked (at the time of said interview) haven't played the festival before - i.e. Taylor Swift + Kendrick/RHCP/A. N. Other. So McCartney would have been the third act who was still in negotiations, maybe he's tweeted now because something has been signed.

Imagine we go through months of pondering who the pyramid like other stage headliners might be and...........it's Stereophonics

saw Stereophonics at latitude this year, and they were surprisingly not shite. Played most of the hits, well spread through the set as well. Preferred them to the killers' set the year before tbh

My idea of where certain pop stars would place is really skewed atm, if Miley Cyrus can play third down surely Childish would take a similar slot?

If we're talking fame only, then yeah he's definitely about right to sub. Recently I haven't seen his name on a festival line up below headline though, I think he's headline or nothing - so I don't see him popping up at Glastonbury any time soon. (see also: Frank Ocean)
