  1. Also the optics would be dreadful heading into the election with headlines like ‘Labour taking away free childcare’. They won’t want to allow the media to run with that narrative.
  2. Talking of polls…
  3. It seems to be a story driven by Momentum which means it’s totally bollocks.
  4. I doubt this is true but if it is who cares, there’s much more important to worry about than a flag on a leaflet.
  5. Ha I imagine there might be a small tent somewhere with it on tbf.
  6. I wouldn’t go to Glastonbury if the GE was that day (and I had a ticket) I cannot wait to watch that through the night.
  7. Redfield and Wilton swing around loads, their last poll was exceptionally high so this is just reverting back.
  8. I have no idea what you’re talking about…
  9. Deltapoll and Redfield are very swingy pollsters, they are just swinging back from their very high Labour leads last week.
  10. I agree in a way but the theory is that when a worker comes to retire they can then benefit from it after paying taxes all their working life. Although I have doubts whether the state pension will exist in the current form by the time many workers retire.
  11. Labour won’t do that, they’re saying that they are gonna keep it. They might amend it further down the line but it is staying.
  12. The LDs will benefit from the Tory collapse but they should be doing much better.
  13. The Labour Party won’t miss Owen Jones, it’s telling that as they get closer to government Owen Jones decides he wants out.
  14. New Labour said they’d stick with Tory fiscal plans too then after a year or 2 moved away from them. Labour will do the same again I’d imagine.
  15. I would imagine this is pretty accurate, it’s pretty simple tactics in an election year.
  16. I haven’t read it but I assume they are talking about the swing needed?
  17. Fair play, I've miss-understood what he was saying. I think his overall point isn't correct though, Labour will won't be as wasteful with money as the Tories have been and that alone will mean more money into public services. It might not generate much growth but it can help.
  18. You don’t believe that the Tories are wasteful or corrupt?
  19. What don’t you buy? I didn’t mean that doing that alone will bring about good times just it will help to generate some growth/slightly better public services.
  20. Your point about corruption is spot on, I was going to say similar but around general wastage of public money. Labour will be better with public money and spend it in ways that is actually useful which will then improve public services and generate growth.
  21. Yeah it would help but the EU gave given no indication that they would let it happen anytime soon, so because of that and other reasons Labour won't put rejoin in their next manifesto. I'm sure in an ideal world Starmer would take us back in, in the next Parliament.
  22. How exactly would we rejoin the EU in the next few years?
