  1. I wonder if he’ll go to Reform.
  2. I agree, the SNP could’ve discussed this with all parties beforehand to form a consensus but they decided to start playing politics so Labour played them right back. We did get to Parliament agreeing to a ceasefire in the end though.
  3. I don't think the SNP leader Stephen Flynn has come out of this looking great when he was shouting for the Speaker in the Commons.
  4. The amended SNP motion has passed so a ceasefire motion has been successful, that’s a good thing isn’t it? I don’t think Starmer has to do anything, their amendment explains things and I think the Labour Party have explained it before.
  5. I’m not so sure, he had a right to raise an amendment especially if he feels the SNP motion isn’t right.
  6. Labour have said the SNP motion used some language they aren’t comfortable with (especially because Starmer might then become PM and have to sit opposite Netanyahu) and some other parts they weren’t completely happy with. So they tabled their own one.
  7. They raised the immediate ceasefire motion to cause division in Labour. Labour responded by raising their own amendment to the motion which is only slightly different, the Speaker went against precedence to select the amendment. Therefore as the SNP can’t vote against they’ve kicked off and stormed out.
  8. The SNP raised this motion to try to get one over on Labour and it’s completely backfired on them. They look like amateurs.
  9. I was just about to post that, I think the Speakers don’t the right thing to be fair to him.
  10. It looks like the SNP will support the Labour amendment which is good but in the end it won’t mean anything.
  11. Yeah that seems to be the case, I think millennials are the first generation that are not getting more right wing as they grow older and that’s continuing into gen z too. Potentially the Tories have a big issue on their hands.
  12. I've been thinking about what Nobody Interesting said yesterday and I wanted to apologise for how I have been at times in the politics threads. I am genuinely sorry if I have ever bullied anyone. Whilst the topics can lead to heated discussion I will try my best to improve and not to get personal in the future. Sorry again everyone.
  13. Would be a pretty diverse coalition of views.
  14. Hmmm that could happen but I reckon it would be pretty rare.
  15. You’ll still get Tories winning under PR but you wouldn’t get Tory majorities so the more extreme elements of their policies would be diluted.
  16. Well this is disgusting.
  17. If we fixed the NHS then this would go a long way to helping those people get back to work. These people aren’t sitting at home by choice, the Tories have wrecked the NHS and this is a result of that.
  18. The Greens would get more under PR which is partly why their supports want to bring it in, same for the LDs too. You’d probably have Labour as the largest party a lot of the time being propped up by those smaller parties then occasionally a populist rising up but they would never get a majority which would limit them.
  19. Tony Blair is very sexy. If that happened to Starmer I would die.
  20. That doesn’t really make much sense. Starmer has said from the start his first priority was getting Labour into government and that’s what he’s doing. You don’t need to completely trust him beside you cant completely trust anyone I honestly think that Starmer is a good man and wants the best for this country that’s why I support him so much.
  21. You will owe me £1k 😉
  22. It is fact that FPTP in this country brings about more Tory governments so when I say it gives mainly Tory governments I am correct.
  23. That’s true, it does mainly give Tory governments.
  24. More risk of Farage under PR though?
  25. Yes sorry I miss-read that. What is the Parliament Act?
