  1. Ah really thought Let’s Eat Grandma was a great addition but thought it’d be a like-for-like swap with Georgia, not on during Pavement so that’s somehow a double blow in my book.
  2. i mean yeah that’s what I thought! Maybe just people were put off by the sound. Also Matt has famously struggled with lyrics anyway so I’ll put it down to nerves and getting back into it
  3. The National’s set list from last night looks exciting but there are a couple of very negative comments about whether they wanted to be there. Seen them enough to know they’re hit and miss anyway, so hopefully they cheer up by Friday https://www.instagram.com/p/CeMov5uvues/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  4. I got mine through Festicket and received 5/6 emails about Access Ticket since the start of April, with a link to verify. Not sure if it’ll just work if you download access ticket and go around it like that. If not their customer service email is support@accessticket.app which might be more helpful than Festicket
  5. the national’s eight-hour concert a few years back was just a warm up for filling up Friday (please don’t let me jinx this one too)
  6. Not sure how practical it is (must be a reason it didn’t happen after Massive Attack or in the first place), but Yeah Yeah Yeahs don’t start their UK tour until June 5. Presuming The Strokes are all good for W2, Primavera might throw it all getting them in early? not sure it’ll go down too well, but
  7. I really hope the Strokes are there, and really hope they’ll get a replacement instead. But given he was seen as a sensible choice in 2017 when Frank Ocean pulled out, i can’t see any way they wouldn’t just move Jamie XX up
  8. what kind of barriers do they usually have in the crowd (albeit with VIP)? do we think the stages will be split by a long gap (like Reading), which means there could be a little bit of movement at least? just think it’s going to be weird if you’re in the first 10 rows for a headliner on one, you’ll barely be able to see the other
  9. That was incredible, had ruined any surprises but the versions of the Ghosteen were great, both on good form and I Need You almost finished me. was sat in the choir and had one of the big lights right in front of where his standing mic was so wish I’d have paid the big money in a way but still quite close to his piano, so can’t complain too much. Can’t wait for Primavera and wherever they play in the UK next summer now.
  10. It was teasing a 20-show residency for Brooklyn Steel. What a strange thing to do across a number of venues just to say ‘oh no they’re just playing in one place’ so I’m not taking it as a big clue for APE. considering there was no album 2 months ago and he said they were on ‘full hiatus’ and wouldn’t tour without new music, I have no idea what it means
  11. Warning for those not wanting spoilers but remember a few concerns about the set lists for the upcoming shows, but just seen the set list for night 1 here and very happy (and relieved) to see a full 20 song set including a bit of everything. Can’t wait for the Royal Albert Hall now
  12. only selling cans isn’t ideal but it makes the bar queues a dream. Enjoyed today, i went for Caribou and Nadine Shah so avoided the worst crowds, and Caribou exceeded my expectations and were great. Also didn’t have the sound issues with Foals really, but that coupled with playing the drawn out songs in a row at the end meant there were loads leaving early
  13. Bit disappointed by Jamie XX, knew it wasn’t going to be In Colour but still a bit flat for me apart from Weird Fishes. decent day though and definitely busier than the last two festivals (or the days I went anyway) but no super long queues. also disappointed that Romy’s new thing is also just becoming a DJ too. Was looking forward to hearing Lifetime properly but left for Little Simz which was probably a blessing in disguise. Hope they ditch the VIP area next year or at least make it a bit smaller, never saw more than 100 people in there so can’t even have made the festival any money
  14. There were a couple of dogs I saw like in the area but none of the people checking us for tickets/covid/whatever seemed that fussed, at 4pm despite decent numbers it was the quickest I think I’ve ever got into an event
  15. heroes all round in this thread, thank you!
  16. Does anyone who knows this stuff better than me know if there’s any disruption due on the tubes this weekend or how bad queues usually are for tubes? Remember 2018+19 Mile End station seemed to shut just after finishing, which wasn’t ideal I’ve always legged it out for the station so not sure if my 0:15 train at Kings Cross is realistic without an early exit? I’d misremembered a 10:30 curfew somewhere until I saw the clashfinder
