  1. Michael Kiwanuka, Manchester Apollo, May 17th. Got two standing tickets. Had them from before the sodding pandemic, gig has been rescheduled at least twice.  And now cannot go. Thought would put them on here before twickets. E tickets so can transfer them. Face value £31 each.

  2. It is so random, I have all the technical stuff sorted, multiple devices on fast broadband and 4g. Nothing, not a sniff. Daughter walks downstairs, just out of interest Google’s Glastonbury tickets. Within 20 seconds she is in, all I hear is “I think I am in, what do I do now………” and we get the 1 ticket we needed. I haven’t managed to get in for the last 3 festivals but thankfully others have. It is so so random. and fucking stressful.

It was a fun show, loved the stage lighting, it gave the gig a more intimate feel. I feel like they're one more "Blue Weekend" away from main stage (major) festival headliners. Maybe Reading/Leeds on the back of the next album? Even Glastonbury? Who knows...

I saw them last year headlining Latitude and in Manchester last Thursday and agree with all the above, they were great. But……..re headlining Glastonbury their stage presence/stage craft needs more work. I love Ellie, she is an amazing singer and musician, but she is not yet the ‘leader’ on the stage. The two guitarists do their best to egg the crowd on but they reminded me a little bit of two geography teachers on the piss doing karaoke 🤓. I think they are brilliant and hopefully the next tour will be arenas and that will allow them to develop their show to the next level.

  4. Once again this thread (and the other months) is fantastic for discovering music i know nothing about. Seeing the votes is really helpful. Don't agree with all the votes but Gang of Youths and Spoon are new additions to the like list. Thank you all. Keep on doing what you are doing. My vote would be 1. Spoon 2. BCNR 3, Gang of Youths. Realise I missed the cut.......

its all good news for the resale crew ( @crazyfool1will be happy ) , shame though when you put all the hard working to get the tix

in the first place , but as you say , lots of changes in two years

It is indeed. Have to say though we are looking for 2 tickets for sure, and possibly 5, in the resale. There may well be a lot of tickets in the sale but....i think the demand might also be higher than usual. The changes in peoples lives will work the other way too, those that couldn't do 2020 might be able to do it in 2022. (sorry to piss on the resale crews' chips 🤐)

Is there a way to check on See Tickets that we've paid?

I mean, I've paid, have an email confirmation and a bank statement to prove I've paid, but is there somewhere on See Tickets for the triple check?!

just did my daily check to make sure nothing has happened overnight to change the status.....😃

  6. Our group managed to get 15 tickets.  I have just found out we have more drop outs. Only 8 paid up FFS. I am shocked and tbh a bit upset. We worked so hard to get those tickets! Life has changed a lot for loads of people in last couple of years I guess, priorities have changed.

I think the resale group are going to be better placed this year.  Hopefully.

Leftfield for Billy Bragg's set was incredible. If he'd have asked us to march on parliament by the end we'd have taken the fuckers down.

Yep. I was there too. I was with you.

Funny memory, a bloke in front of me, obviously a brexit supporter was wingeing about Billy Bragg in the leftfield tent being ‘too political, it’s a music festival!’.  he didn’t last long  😂

Thanks although this was down to many people donating to the cause … we managed to total £1360 in the end with a final push once it was published on the forum

Agree 👆🏽  Not sure how I missed this. Just pitched in. Thanks Alex. And thank you Neil for keeping this show on the road. Can’t imagine what life would be like without it…..

well apart from having more time to do things, and annoying the wife about Glastonbury rumours. 😀

  9. Fascinating stuff isn’t it. I am intrigued in the split between cost of sales and admin expenses. Reported in 2020 accounts for the 2019 festival, £45m income, £18m cost of sales and £28m administrative expenses. Total salaries for company employees are £1.2m. Wonder how they breakdown those cost buckets. Any accountants out there with insight?

    Edit:

Been thinking about this - is the £18m cost of sales the fees to artists? If so how do you so,it by stage?  The £28m is the cost of setting and up and showing?

  10. R Dean Taylor RIP. This was one of my favourite songs that were played at Northern Soul all nighters in the seventies that I loved. I wasn’t a massive dance fan (cos I was/am a shit dancer) but loved the experience. Only got to the Wigan casino once and I remember it to this day.

  11. agree with the above. Have been staying in Cockmill since 2009 with family, apart from a couple of solo years when I ventured elsewhere. It’s great for access to most places east/central but is a hike to Park/JP. However it is usually chocker on Wednesday afternoon as most of the central campsites are. Wickets is very good according to friends, loads of room, but as mentioned above it is a a way to the west. But as per the other thread about campsites the walk is not such a big deal as wherever you camp you will end up walking a long way during the festival.
